The war in Sri Lanka is nearing its end and the Tigers will be finally wiped out. No doubt the Sri Lankan government will celebrate but now should be the time to seriously help the Tamil community. Winning one war will only abate the problem for the time being if the Tamil people feel they are victimised and neglected by the majority. This will be the golden moment when in the full flush of victory over the murderous Tigers that the Sinhala leaders should show their generosity and friendship for the Tamils. For a start they must decouple religion from the state and send Buddhist monks back into their monasteries. The battered and humiliated Tamils should be helped to return to their homes and financial help given to help them rebuild their homes and lives. Instititutions such as police and judiciary should be fair and sympathetic. That is not to say that Tigers should be dealt with lightly. Any Tiger caught must be tried and put away for long periods. Prabhakaran deserves to be hanged. It will be interesting to see how brave he is when confronted by the hangman's noose. Stupid Indian politicians should keep their mouths shut and not show solidarity towards cowardly terrorists who were responsible for the deaths of thousands of their own people because they would not allow them to escape and used them as human shields. I would advise Indian politicians to concentrate on protecting Indians from crime, naxals, Paki and Bangladeshi terrorists not to mention the cannibal Chinese. So many innocent deaths, all because of third rate politicians.

Watching or reading news everyday I feel that 'democracy' is the most frequently used word today. Thus Thailand's Prime Minister, Abhisit Vejjajiva claimed to be a saviour of democracy when he declared a state of emergency and sent in troops to shoot at the Red Shirts. He forgot to mention that Thaksin Shinawatra was the elected prime minister until he was deposed in a coup supported by the King. His party was declared illegal but won again under a new name. This prompted a long protest by the Yellow Shirts, financed by the elites and supported by the army. Two prime ministers were removed by the Constitutional Court and Mr. Vejjajiva was appointed. This prompted a protest by supporters of Thaksin, the Red Shirts which he has just crushed. Mao would have been proud. Hamas are killing Fatah supporters in Gaza in the name of democracy. Former Secretary General of the UN brokered a deal in Kenya which allowed Mwai Kibaki to remain President and reduced Raila Odinga to Prime Minister. After all Kibaki seemed to have more ballots even though they were stuffed by his supporters. India is in the throes of a general elections which is totally pointless because for the last five years we have had a Prime Minister who was not elected. Criminals, doddering old men, ugly sons of previous members and assorted dishonourable, self serving liars are the choice before the people. Yet the winners will claim democratic legitimacy to loot the country. 'Democracy' has become the tool of the scoundrel and the thief. How do we clean out the garbage?

People in Kandhamal in Orissa voted yesterday. This is where antichristian riots took place last year after a hindu leader was killed. A storm of abuse was unleashed on hindus who were compared to Al Qaeda and various other filthy groups of pathological killers. Christian priests joined in the abuse. Television pictures showed dirt poor people living in hovels but this same area boasted 200 hundred churches all made of bricks and concrete. Clearly these were not constructed with contributions from the locals. Of course everyone forgot to mention that there are 45000 christian schools in India and that there are 55 christian holidays per year compared to, maybe, 5 or 6 for hindus. In this hill town that I live in there are christian charitable schools which bring children from Assam and Ladakh for 'education'. I am not aware of any child going on to become a doctor, engineer or chartered accountant from any of these schools. Every child becomes a student of 'theology' which means they are used to convert more people. There are many 'reverends' who live in large houses, drive luxury cars and travel abroad frequently and yet are not employed in any salaried job. Hinduism has been around for over 6000 years and has been subject to ferocious assaults by muslims and christians for centuries. Hindus do not convert so we did not seek this confrontation. These people have come here from thousands of miles away to wipe us out only because we are hindus. The stupid excuse always given is that lower castes are badly treated. They surely are but muslims in Kashmir used to be pandits. So clearly this is something else. It is the most insidious and vile form of ethnic cleansing going on for centuries. Unfortunately our freeloading, pseudosecular, Congress inspired Hindu hating press just helps in this vile process.

The Indian elections have started today. Lot of self congratulating on the vibrant democracy in this diverse country. However the population is not so diverse when we analyse what these elections mean. For the political gangs it is ecstasy for winners especially if they can get ministerial posts which will enrich them and the parties for years to come. For the rich it will mean a new bunch of criminals to bribe so that a 'setting' can be achieved for the next few years and then business can go on smoothly. If the same criminal returns as minister then the kleptocrats are happy because all these years of being an abject chamcha will pay off. If there is a change in the minister then all the old kleptocrats will be posted out to dirty villages and trusted chamchas will be brought in to help in the loot. For the dalits there will be more reserved seats in prime educational institutions and government jobs even for millionaires. For the naked, illiterate aam aadmi it is time to party as saris, pouches of local hooch and even cash is distributed for votes. They will be promised free electricity and Rs. 2 per kilo rice at taxpayers' expense and will feel happy not realising that they will remain beggars for ever. For nonpoor-nonrich, nondalit, nonchamcha, educated middle class like me it is a hugely expensive irrelevance. Already the most heavily taxed person in the world my taxes will go up. New laws will restrict my freedom even further. if I am harassed or beaten or even killed there will be no justice. I am and shall remain a third class or maybe even a fourth class citizen in my own country.

A few years ago a businessman in Delhi wanted to arrange marriage of his son with the daughter of a richer fellow but the girl's father would not consent because he did not consider the boy's family rich enough. Then we heard that income tax officers had raided this man's house looking for black money. Following the raid the man's standing went up so high that the girl's father immediately agreed to the marriage. The rumour was that the man had paid income tax officials to raid his house. In India today you are judged by the amount of money and power you have and morals are considered for losers and wimps. Mr. Rahul Gandhi is being built up as a future prime minister of India. I would like to see his complete curriculum vitae including education, jobs held and specialisation. But to be a successful politician and earn the respect of the business class he has to show how many billions he has made from presents given to him by his supporters. He has to show how many guns he carries and how many FIRs are filed against him for murder, armed robbery, assault and rape. Just being a nice fellow is not going to earn him the respect he needs to succeed as a politician in India. Also he would not have the requisite experience to deal with all the criminals that will be elected to parliament. Good thing is that he is young and has lots of time to build up his reputation.

For a long time I have been writing that politicians in India want the people to remain poor and dependant on handouts. That way they can maintain power over the people and recruit chamchas who will obey any order including killing anyone who dares to criticise. That is why inspite of so called socialism education was left in the private sector available only to those who could afford to pay the fees. No politician will openly admit to this policy but from time to time they expose their conspiracy in the guise of helping the poor. In the past Bengal and Bihar enforced education in local language saying that learning english was a colonial hangover and should be discouraged. This resulted in these states falling behind economically and both are virtually basket cases today. The Samajwadi Party in its manifesto for the coming elections promises to do away with english and computers because machines take jobs away from people. The IT sector has put India on the world map. However, it is completely independent being in private hands and has grown independent of the government. Far from taking jobs away it has employed millions and created wealth. From the beginning IT companies looked abroad to grow and earn and thus inspired other sectors to become globally competitive. The politicians hate this because they cannot loot these companies like they can with public sector companies and such independence worries them. So stop english and computers and you have an uneducated, naked, hungry people completely at your mercy.

Campaigning for the elections is in full swing. Each gang has come out with a list of promises for the good of the aam aadmi. I would wish for the following: Anyone above the age of 65 years will be banned. Term limit of two terms will be strictly enforced. Children and spouses of elected members will not be allowed to stand for elections for 20 years after the sitting member leaves. Police will be freed from political control and reformed to help the people and not function as a criminal organisation in uniform as at present. District attorney system will prevent false cases being filed. All cases must finish within two years and no side will be allowed more than two extensions. Any side unable to present its case more than twice loses automatically. Punishment for all elected politicians and government employees will be four times that of ordinary people. Any politician disrupting parliament or assembly or behaving like a hooligan loses his seat. Elected members will have to work for a minimum period failing which they will not be paid. Except

The more I see the more I find that human beings are exactly like bacteria. Just like bacteria invade the body we have invaded Gaia or mother earth. Just as we try to fight off infection with antibodies earth has been trying to get rid of us with viruses and bacteria. In the olden times it was plague, small pox, cholera. Today it is HIV, XDR TB, malaria. Just as bacteria develop resistance to antibiotics we invent vaccines against our infections and just as bacteria exchange immunity genes among different species so we supply vaccines and antibiotics to each other. Just as bacteria breed regardless of the health of the host so do we. Since humans live only 70 odd years bacteria live around 20 minutes and multiply fast but mother earth is 4 billion years old so we can take longer. Just as bacteria cause fever in the human host so we are causing fever in our mother in the form of global warming. If we fail to get rid of infection we die and this is likely to happen to mother earth if she fails to get rid of us. Once the host is dead the infecting bacteria also die in the fire that consumes the body so we will all die if earth succumbs. The only way bacteria survive is by invading a fresh human before the first one is dead. Maybe we humans will also survive by infecting another planet before earth dies. Unless there is another life form ready to sterilise us.

Following the G20 resolution to name and shame countries which faclitate tax dodging four more countries including Philipines and Malaysia have announced that they will open their books. About a couple of years age German police offered to pass on a list of Indians holding secret accounts in Lichstenstein. When asked after the shoe throwing incident Mr. Chidambaram, then Finance and now Home minister, said that the government is working on it. It was Mr. Chidambaram who stopped the stock market regulator, SEBI, from passing a rule that would force foreign finance companies to reveal the identities of people who are investing in our share market through what is known as Participatory Notes or PNs. It would be fun if a public interest litigation is filed in the Supreme Court forcing the government to ask for and publish the identities of all Indians with secret foreign accounts. There will be such a panic as never seen before. With all foreign banks closed to them these people would be forced to repatriate all their money but will not wish to face tricky questions. One method will be to bring the money in by the hawala route and invest in the property market where only half the cost is paid by cheque and the rest by cash or black money. The black money part could be increased to 1/3 or even 3/4. The other way would be to invest in our stock market through PNs. Since Indians are thought to hold upto $ 1 trillion in foreign banks could we see Sensex above 100,000 and a hut in Jhumritalaia costing over $ 1 million? After all India is still paradise for money laundering.

The Home Minister, Chidambaram, is in good company. Along with George Bush and Wen Jiao Bao he had a shoe thrown at him although one may debate whether a pair of sneakers can really be classified as shoes. Twenty five years have passed since the massacre of sikhs following the death of Indira Gandhi but we do not have one single conviction for those killings, most of them in daylight. Last week Tytler was freed by the courts and before that it was Bhagat. Women who had been campagning for justice for years suddenly changed their testimony in court when previously they had claimed to be eyewitnesses to their husbands' murders. What threats or inducements made these women change their tune we will never know but as usual the justice system in India is shown to be useless. The courts function in cases of industrial dispute or in high value tax cases but is completely useless in protecting the ordinary citizen against crimes by the state and criminal politicians. The justice system including the police, detective agencies and courts are extensions of the state to coerce, intimidate or liquidate anyone opposing the whims of the current government. The freeloading press is the most to blame. Most of the popular newspapers suppport Congress. There are regular attacks on Modi for 2000 killed in Gujarat but not a single mention of the 5000 killed in 1984. If the press, who should be vigilant protectors of civil rights, becomes the hounds of one gang constantly snarling in the wrong direction Indian the people are being constantly misled and do not know what to think. Like lobotomised sheep we will queue up to vote in a new combination of the same scoundrels in May because of a steady drip of lies.

Saw the Doha Debates programme on the BBC, the motion was ' Should the US get tough on Israel.' There seems to be an increasingly prevalent idea, promoted mainly by european countries including Britain, that if sufficient pressure is applied on Israel for it to negotiate a ' two state ' solution then there will be peace in the middle east which will deprive Al Qaeda and Iran of the oxygen of propaganda and bring about an end to terrorism. It is hard to believe that leading politicians and diplomats can be so willfully blind. The two state solution has not brought peace to India. For over 60 years the sole purpose of the Pakistani state has been to preach death against India. India helped Bangladesh when the Pakis were killing and raping but today most terrorist attacks involve elements of Hu Ji. Saudi Arabia is a staunch ally of the US and the house of Saud survives because of US support but it does not stop them financing madrassas in Pakistan which recruit fighters to kill US forces in Afghanistan. The truth is that an independent Palistine will be an existential threat to Israel because its government will be a member of the UN and will be able to buy arms legitimately. Israel will be permanently at war against an enemy which will use its sovereignty to bring in foreign fighters and deadlier weapons. Truth is that to the jihadis Hindus are kafirs and Christians and Jews are infidels and they will not rest until all are dead. They live to kill and will find a reason. Maybe the europeans want the jihadis to achieve what the Nazis failed to do. After all were the Jews not responsible for the crucifiction of Jesus?

The G20 circus is over and much to my surprise it has given tangible results. Perhaps it was because of the popularity of Obama that awed the other leaders into a deal or maybe the man can actually walk on water as his supporters will have us believe. There was Gordon Brown, one of the prime architects of the crisis, listing the various steps to stimulate world growth and create jobs. Using both palms like book ends he gave a press conference as if he is some latter day saviour. $ 250 billion for the IMF's Special Drawing Rights, another $ 250 billion for trade finance and various other bits and bobs amounting to $ 1.1 trillion in total. Perhaps I am a cynic or maybe I have lived too long but I cannot get rid of this gnawing doubt. When the stimulus package begins to work and the global economy begins to improve it will instantly put upwards pressure on commodity prices. Russsia and OPEC countries are suffering so badly that they will refuse to increase output to keep the growth momentum going. What about the increasingly volatile climatic conditions? Severe drought and floods in Australia. Drought in parts of USA. Severe drought in Argentina killing cattle so ranchers changing to soya farming. These are already happening so everything could fall apart if countries used IMF help just to buy food. With so much money being thrown around will they be able to control currency exchange rates? Remember how Gearge Soros made a billion dollars in one week when the pound fell against the German mark. I do not think anyone has a clue. Great fun.

Why is it necessary to pay bankers such humungous salaries and bonuses? It is not as if they are really producing anything. They are taking money from depositors and lending it out to businesses and individuals in the form of loans and mortgages. The modalities of business are written down and every time they try to be too clever to increase profits they are brought down. This is not the first time banks have failed because of unchecked greed in an attempt to increase profits to maximise bonuses. Remember Barings which was brought down by Nick Leason's unsupervised trades on the futures market? His bosses did nothing to stop him because they did not understand what he was doing but let him carry on because he was increasing their bonuses. Barings disappeared and Leason served jail time but no lessons were learnt. Instead of toughening regulations they were relaxed. The same happened in a Japanese bank but again nothing. I can imagine some justification in giving bonuses to executives of companies that produce goods such as steel or cars but there is no justification in paying exorbitant amount to bankers who make money by sleight of hand. It is rubbish to say that you have to attract clever people. Professors are extremely clever but earn peanuts and there will always be many applicants for cushy bank jobs. So golden pension for Rick Waggoner maybe but certainly not for Fred Goodwin. Is anyone listening?

The G20 circus is in town. Gordon Brown revelling and protestors protesting. The aims are laudable. Stimulate respective economies with large amounts of cash, target the poor people who will spend money quickly and so stimulate the economy, spend on infrastructure, use this opportunity to fund green projects to improve the environment and reject all forms of protectionism. Sadly all this is just gas and will not work and we will be here again in a few years. The reason is that, as usual, truth has been left out. Perhaps the most important topic should have been how to stop the growth of poor population in the world. The sad fact is that the poor everywhere are breeding without restraint with politicians choosing to avoid talking about it in case they are accused of being antipoor. More people means cutting down forests for agriculture. More fossil fuel for cooking, travelling and energy thus increasing CO2 production. More houses cut down agricultural land for food production leading migration from villages to cities and from poor to rich countries. Couple of days back hundreds drowned of the coast of Libya. Thai police put Burmese immigrants in a boat and pushed it out to sea. The US is building a fence along its border with Mexico. Rio mayor is constructing a wall to stop extension of slums up the hillside. How long before the rich countries use gunboats to stop migrants from poor countries. How long before the rich barricade themselves in walled cities protected with cannons to keep out the hungry hordes? Help the poor, sure, but it should not be seen as a present for breeding. The more the children the more the aid. So encouraging. Perhaps the G20 should have a lecture on our sister planet Venus.

Cannot say that I am unhappy at the killings at the police training school in Lahore, Pakistan. Perhaps the Pakis should feel some of the grief we felt after Mumbai. Let them collect corpses of innocent people as we did a few months back. The common belief is that this is an attack by the Taliban. It is also widely believed that the ISI, the intelligence wing of the Pakistani army, is training and supplying arms to the Taliban. It was the Paki army which initially formed the Taliban, from students in Madrassas in Pakistan after the Soviets withdrew from Afghanistan, and supported them as they conquered that country and set up an islamic government there. The ISI are said to believe that the Taliban are their pet rottweilers and can be called off at will after having followed their orders and got rid of the US and NATO forces in Afghanistan. If that is so then they are surely mistaken. You cannot control mad dogs, you just shoot them. What is really scary is that the ISI does not want to control the Taliban at all but wants to establish an islamic state armed with nuclear weapons right on our border. If that seems like happening the international community will have to decide whether to continue embracing Pakistan as they have been doing for 60 years or to destroy it to dust. The Indian government will have to secure our borders so that Pakis do not flood across much as the Bangladeshis are doing at the moment. With the garbage we have at this time we should fear for our future.

Another day, another shooting. This time in a nursing home in the US. Before that it was in Germany where it was a nursery. An 11 year old boy shot his father's pregnant girl friend as she lay sleeping and then calmly rode the school bus to school. No 11 year old would carry out a crime like that unless he has grown up with guns and has been taught how to load and shoot one. In a massive coverup he is to be charged as an adult and may spend his entire life in prison. Yet he is just as much a victim as the dead woman. The manufacturer's of guns are the people who should be serving lives in prison for the millions being killed worldwide by their lethal product. Instead they are billionaires protected by the NRA, a collection of pathological sociopaths, citing some weird amendment in the constitution. We are used to Hollywood movies about drug smugglers and how brave DEA agents risk lives to stop these evil men. Yet it seems that just as drugs are being smuggled into the US so guns are being smuggled from US to Mexico where more than 6000 men died in the border region last year because of drug cartels fighting over territory and the police. Cigarettes come with health warnings and the Indian government wants manufacturers to put skull and bones on the packets but guns have no restrictions. People are being shot over parking arguments and schoolboys are killing other boys. The police are supplying farmers with guns in Jharkhand to fight Naxals. People die and the lies go on.

Since the subprime crisis broke many companies have shut down. Venerable institutions like Bear Sterns and Lehman Brothers have gone bust. Thousands including CEOs have lost their jobs. Those who are still employed find themselves vilified in the press and facing questions from very angry lawmakers representing the anger felt by the public. In all this mayhem one CEO has benefited tremendously and that is Gordon Brown, the Prime Minister of Britain. While the US system forced George Bush to step aside after two terms there is no such restriction on Brown. For over a decade he was the Chancellor of the Exchequer, which means finance minister, and carried out a policy of privatisation, less taxes for the rich and even less restrictions on financial institutions such as banks. While the UK taxpayer has bailed out RBS with over 20 billion sterling he has allowed its Chairman, Sir Fred Goodwin, to retire at just 50 years of age with a pension of 700,000 pounds per year. Yesterday some people broke groundfloor windows of Sir Fred's Edinburgh home and vandalised his luxury car. No such brickbats for Brown. Since the crisis broke he has been striding the world stage like a collosus, dashing off to european capitals, lecturing the US Congress and now confering in Chile. He will be hosting the G20 summit next week and his poll ratings are up. Just proves that politicians have too much power and we the people are mugs.

In his speech yesterday President Obama laid out his plans for Afghanistan and Pakistan. He intends to send an additional 17000 fighting troops, 4000 troops for training Afghan soldiers and civilian officials to train Afghan police and administrators. Clearly the Americans are looking to hit the Taliban very hard in Afghanistan. At the same time they are going to continue using Predator drones to bomb Taliban and Al Qaeda inside Pakistan, probabaly expanding the area of operations. He has promised targeted civilian aid to Pakistan as well as military aid to help the Paki army to fight terrorists. Unfortunately the Paki army is an organised crime syndicate with huge business interests in everything from property to imports and exports. They are taking in huge protection money from the Taliban drug trade and have every interest in helping the Taliban continue fighting NATO forces. The army knows that its survival and wealth depends on the absence of peace because fear makes people turn towards its men in uniform. Pakistan broke away from India in 1947 and always compares itself against the standards set by its neighbour. While the Indian economy is booming giving India greater international influence the Pakis are having to beg for survival from the IMF. The army cannot allow Pakistan to become a basket case like Myanmar so it will need a war for its survival. If it starts to lose in the west it may start a war against India. Our survival depends on which gang wins the elections.

The freeloading press is constantly telling us how India is going to avoid recession now afflicting countries such as Britain, Japan and Singapore. We are told that our growth is going to be 6% plus and will surge once trade in the rest of the world recovers. Today's paper has big headlines saying how the Sensex has given the third best returns in the Asia Pacific region. However other news would seem to indicate that all is not great as they would have us think. The RBI governor, Mr. Subbarao has said that next fiscal, 2009-2010, will be tougher than the present one. He is unable to reduce interest rates any further because 10 year government bond yields are very high having crossed 7%. Although everyone points to the wholesale inflation index which is down to 0.27% Consumer Price Index is still high, double digits in some cases. He thinks it is a good thing because this will prevent deflation. The reason for the high bond yields is that the government will have to borrow Rs.1400 billion from April- September and Rs. 2410 billion in the nest quarter. What will happen in the next half of the year is anybody's guess. With the government sucking funds out of the market credit will remain tight and interest rates will remain high. With Europe and the USA at loggerheads about the path to recovery, with the Czech Prime Minister describing the US plan as ' the road to hell, there is no guarantee about world trade picking up in the medium term. By this time elections will be over and looks like Congress gang will be back again so who cares. Anyone for stagflation?

To apply for any post of cleaner, bus conductor or lower division clerk, which is the pits in civil service hierarchy, one has to produce a CV detailing qualifications and work experience. The only job that one can get without the slightest qualification, work experience or good character is that of a politician. Thus Cora Aquino became President of Phillipines following the death of her husband as did Sirimavo Bandaranaeke in Sri Lanka. Zardari,a semiliterate, thieving playboy, is President of Pakistan because his wife was killed. Obama has won the Presidency of the US of A because he is handsome, intelligent and charismatic which is precisely what women victims have said about Charles Sobhraj, who is presently in prison in Nepal for murder. India has mainly two types of politicians. One is the family type wherein children of a powerful politician are brought with the knowledge that ' one day all this will be yours ' much like the zamindars of yesteryear. Instead of land or kingdom the leadership of a political gang is past down from father to son or from film star to mistress. The second type has got there by the use of guns and black money, collected from criminal activities. At least 125 members of the present Lok Sabha have been accused of murder, rape and criminal violence but are protected by, so called, ' honourable ' politicians because they are ' innocent until proven guilty.' Since cases will go on forever and the police will probably destroy evidence there is no possibility of these criminals ever being hanged for their crimes. Time for citizens corporations to protect us from evil.

Congratulations Mr. Ratan Tata. The first Nano car priced at Rs. 100,000 will be unveiled today. My vegetable vendor has been waiting eagerly for its debut and has been keenly following its arrested pregnancy, prolonged labour and delayed delivery. But at last the baby is here and long may she live and prosper. Alas, already some blackhearts are beginning to criticise her. One woman, interviewed on television, was lamenting the fact that since it is so cheap every beggar and his aunt will buy one creating more congestion on roads and more pollution. Why is it that Indians are so willing to accept that others, especially whites, are entitled to a far superior standard of living than us? Is it something in the water or have our politicians so successfully brain washed us that we are terrified to even imagine that we should be living like Americans where there are some 900 cars for every thousand individuals? It is the aam aadmi disease in which people are deliberately kept poor by extortionate taxes while the politicians and kleptocrats use the money so raised to live lavish lives as khas aadmis. There is no doubt that mobiles help the poor in many ways. Farmers and fishermen use their mobiles to find the best prices for their produce thus eliminating middlemen. Sadly companies have to turn over 30% of their revenue in the form of various taxes whereas this is 5% in other Asian countries. How long before the Nano is taxes out of reach?

The Indian Home Minister has said that the elections are more important than the IPL. No sir, it's not. Most emphatically, not. The elections are an unaffordably expensive exercise in complete irrelevance as far as the people are concerned. Its function is to legitimise which collection of lying criminals gets to rape and suck the life blood out of Bharat Mata. Since no gang has the remotest possibility of winning a majority we will have a coalition of gangs with scores ministers who will want to plunder as swiftly as they can in case it falls apart. With ministers will come clouds of donothing, blood sucking kleptocrats on bloated salaries and Indian people and businesses will end up paying more in bribes to get anything done. Mother India will continue to top the list of most corrupt countries and come bottom in the list of business friendly ones. Fortunately the cricket chiefs have decided that the IPL will be staged in a foreign country, probably England, which is to stage the ICC twenty:20 right afterwards. Last year the government raked in nearly one billion rupees in taxes from the IPL but now this money will go to the British government. There is a high possibility of matches coinciding with election dates and we shall see which the people prefer. Also we will not have to see the mugs of ugly politicians sitting close to Bollywood stars to profit from their popularity. What a relief. Perhaps we should ask the people as to how many would like to throw shoes instead of voting.

62 years may have passed since the British left India but one pernicious British legacy still persists to this day. Last week a boy was beaten to death by 4 seniors in a medical school in Himachal and a girl committed suicide in Karnataka unable to endure the humiliation she had to endure. Why did the parents of the boy ignore his repeated complaints of the beatings? Most probably they could not imagine taking their son away from a promising career. With millions of eligible students and seats limited by reservation for undeserving candidates parents are desperate to see their children get the best start in life no matter what the cost. Why are so many 19 and 20 years old students such sadistic monsters that they would torture an innocent boy to death? Children in India grow up with the knowledge that there is no law or justice in India. They see murderers and rapists winning elections and then being protected by the very police and courts that should be hanging them. If your dad is powerful and/or has plenty of black money you can escape all punishment so they have a profound contempt for the establishment. With the same garbage standing for the coming general elections nothing is going to change and next year we will read more horrific accounts of children killing children.

The Josef Fritzl case has come to an end, thank God. It was impossible to hear how he had imprisoned and raped his daughter for 24 years and fathered 7 children from her. What this woman had to endure is unimaginable. To go through all these pregnancies while looking after her previous children, with no medical or nursing care, no pain relief or anyone to help after childbirth is impossible to fathom. Her own father is also the grandfather of her children. All these thoughts induce such a sense of rage, disgust and nausea that I have tried not to hear or read anything about the case. Then we are told about how the AIG executives, who bankrupted the company, have paid themselves over $ 160 million in bonuses with taxpayers' bailout money. On the surface there is no similarity between Fritzl and all the executives who are accepting huge bonuses, buying luxury jets or going for luxury holidays with bailout money but similarity there is. All these people show a complete lack of shame, honour or empathy that Fritzl is accused of. They think that they are somehow superior to others which entitles them to do whatever they desire without any need for explanation or accountability. Fritzl tortured one person but these people are responsible for the misery of millions. They seem completely oblivious to families losing their homes and having to live on handouts. They lack humanity just like Fritzl. They are all psychopaths and should be locked up with him.

The useless circus which is the general elections has come round again. The Congress agenda is the same old same old lies about getting rid of poverty which they have no intention of doing. After all without the naked aam aadmi they have no agenda so poverty is essential to the Congress party's survival. The BJP is led by a very old man who would kill to be prime minister before he dies. His sole strategy has been to oppose everything the government has done including the nuclear deal which was initiated by the BJP itself. He is going to lose and probably choke on his bile. The regional parties are irrelevant. Parties like DMK or TDP are relevant only to tamil or telugu speakers and have no relevance in the rest of the country. Unfortunately they will hold the balance of power and will be able to barter their support for lucrative posts which will provide them with the power to loot the exchequer. The highly successful 20:20 cricket tournament called the Indian Premier League is supposed to be held during April but the government is doing its utmost to get it cancelled. Rumour is that the politicians are afraid that no one turn up to vote if cricket matches coincide with polling days. It is also possible that politicians want to blackmail the IPL to get a share of the money it will generate and have been told to jump into the putrid gutter they crawled out of. It is impossible to see how we will ever get rid of the filth that now pollutes our lives.

The International Criminal Court based at the Hague has issued a warrant against Omar Bashir of Sudan for crimes against humanity. Predictably Bashir has reacted like the low life he is by describing the indictment as neocollonialism and banning aid organisations. Where have we heard that before? In Africa of course or Robert Mugabe's Zimbabwe to be precise. Scum though these men are there is an iota of logic behind their tirades. The Court would be respected if it was even handed and issued warrants for Dick Cheney, Donald Rumsfeld, George Bush and especially Tony Blair. It was Britian's support for the illegal war in Iraq which made the attack possible and thus Blair is doubly guilty of genocide, if that is possible. Of course, we must not forget the other country which always has a soft spot for every mass murderer that comes along whether it is Bashir or Pol Pot and that is China. This is a country whose leaders will kill its own people, the Uighurs, the Tibetans or anyone that it sees as a threat. A man who visited China last year was profoundly impressed by its progress but was puzzled at the lack of any birds or animals. He said he did not see any sparrows, pigeons or even crows and no pets. He wondered if the Chinese had eaten everything around. We can only hope that the current economic crisis lasts long enough to make this country fall apart. If any good can come out of misery for millions then it has to be the disintegration of China. We can only hope.

She was delighted to be studying in a mixed school with people of ' another religion '. She meant Protestants. No one had told this child that there was only one Jesus Christ and Christians shared the same God with Muslims and Jews. While these ' one God fellows ' have been slaughtering each other for centuries Hindus with many Gods never fight about whose God is bigger. Yet millions of ' Hindu heathens ' are being converted every day with money from western countries. Did the Good Samaritan convert the other fellow before helping him? Did Jesus say ' thou shall convert Hindu heathens with bribes or any subterfuge that thou think'st suitable '? Perhaps Christians should study and understand one line from the Bible ' if the light that is in you be darkness, how great is that darkness '. Need I say more?

Americans have shown the way how it is done. Bernard Madoff confessed to having embezzled $ 50 billion in a giant ponzy scheme. He was arrested and tried. Yesterday he pleaded guilty and will be sentenced on June 16. The prosecutor has asked for 150 years without parole and it is almost certain that whatever be the length of the sentence he will spend the rest of his natural life in prison since he is already over seventy years old. Contrast this with Ramalinga Raju of Satyam who has also openly confessed to looting the company, falsifying acounts and lying to shareholders. Rumour is he confessed in India so as to avoid american justice. And how he has succeeded. He has been put in a luxury cell with tv and linen service. Every effort has been made to protect him from questioning by SEBI. Now the CBI are questioning him. After elections he will be given bail and the the trial will be postponed repeatedly until the ' evidence ' will be lost or burnt in a mysterious fire. The CEO of Satyam, a US citizen, has escaped to the US and claims to have no knowledge of what Raju was upto. Surely this idiot was totally unfit to be a janitor let alone a CEO. The americans have started several class action suits which will achieve little if Raju is declared bankrupt. Is there no one who will register a criminal case in the US and force his extradition, away from the criminal filth protecting him? Better to finish here before writing something which will make me liable to contempt of court.

Receiving someone arriving from abroad at Delhi airport is a harrowing and expensive exercise. The Premium Car Park is just an expanse of dirt slightly nearer the arrival building charging Rs. 120 for a few minutes of parking. Entry to the arrival lounge used to cost Rs. 30 which then increased to Rs. 60 and is now Rs. 80. I was told that it will be increased soon to over Rs. 100. Apparently this is to compensate the company improving the looks and amenities of the airport which were worse than any other country in the world. The arrival lounge has been increased in size and the ceiling has been covered with chrome plated light fixtures. The chairs are frayed and have holes in the upholstery. The floor is covered with old and broken tiles. There is no toilet inside but several coffee and soft drinks concessions charging excessive amounts for cheap drinks with high sugar content. For a country with the highest rates of diabetes in the world one cannot get any drink without added sugar. Drinking water has to be bought. The toilets are just outside which means that one is at the mercy of the boorish Delhi Police and may have to buy another entry ticket after using the toilet. Given the history of rapes, muggings and murders by taxi drivers serving the airport one would have that the Prepaid booth would be prominently near the exit and its purpose explained to first time foreigners, especially single women, who are unaware of the risks they face every time they hire a taxi or auto in Delhi. Not so. The Prepaid booth is on the opposite side to the exit obscured by chrome plated pillars while those cheating concessionaires are right next to the exit. Now we have to pay a charge of Rs. 350 for every domestic flight and Rs. 1300 for going abroad to increase the profits of the company doing a rubbish job. The freeloading press is blaming the airlines for not reducing fares. Wonder how much the politicians and kleptocrats are making on this ' fleece the stupid public ' exercise.

Failure of giants of the financial sector is now part of household conversation but the scum who brought about the collapse are still trying to grab as much loot as they can while taxpayers money goes down a bottomless hole and ordinary people lose their jobs and houses. Sir Fred Goodwin the man responsible for the collapse of RBS bank has retired at the age of 50 with a pension of 703,000 pounds per yearand angrily refuses any reduction. Northern Trust which received $ 1.6 billion of TARP money used part of it for a junket in Los Angeles watching a performance by Sheryl Crow and dining at a fancy restaurant. Senior staff at Merril Lynch awarded themselves millions in bonuses while CEO Thorn bought a carpet for over $ 80,000 just before being rescued by Bank of America. CEOs of the three auto makers went to beg for tax payer dollars inWashington in their luxury jets. The lack of any shame and honor is shocking. Time for tax payer and employees corporations to give power to the people to control capitalism which, unfortunately, is still the only system that works.

The irony is delicious. For a couple of centuries at least Britain grew rich and powerful by looting its former colonies. When that fell apart Churchill formulated the ' special relationship ' with the United States which was essentially that of master and slaves. If the British had any illusions about friendship as equals it was quickly destroyed during the Suez crisis when America showed that without its backing Britain was just a tiny island in the North Sea. American might was again demonstrated when Britain was helped to hang on to its illegal occupation of the Falklands Islands and since then British Prime Ministers have rushed to Washington on periodic pilgimages of homage to whoever was occupying the White House. During last year's elections the British journalists were lavish in their eulogies to Obama and utterly contemptuous of McCain and Palin. It would be impossible to imagine any coloured Prime Minister for the institutionally racist British so Obama's victory gave them a chance for virtual political correctness. British sailors made enormous fortunes by trading in slaves and their former colonies in Africa and the West Indies were run by slave labour. It is, therefore, hilarious to see Downing Street celebrating the fact that Prime Minister Gordon Brown is the first European leader to visit Washington and pay homage to a black man. Down you go Gordon, down on your knees boy and lick well. Delicious.

The government is drawing up a health bill which will make it mandatory for doctors to give emergency treatment to patients on demand, even if the patient is unable to or refuses to pay,or face heavy fines. Any emergency treatment, however basic, will need medicines and may also need oxygen, bandages or splints which may cost a lot of money. Since 80% of Indians are poor doctors may find themselves facing bankruptcy. To survive doctors will stop keeping any medicines and will ask the patient's relatives to buy them from the nearest chemist wasting valuable time. Also doctors will shut their clinics outside working hours and patients will have to go long distances to get any help. Why would a government want to pass a piece of legislation which is so malicious. The Congress party which is in power today has ruled the country for 55 of the 61 years since independence. During that time they have kept the people poor, illiterate and without any basic health care. This enables the politicians to tax the middle class heavily in the name of the aam aadmi and dish out favors to their supporters reducing the people to beggars. Bills are written by lawyers who, along with politicians, are despised by the people. Inspite of all that is wrong, doctors still have some respect among the public and this infuriates the scum. Our journalists being freeloaders who is there to tell the truth? Death, after all, cures all illnesses and gives total relief and that is going to be the only medical care available in India.

Of all living creatures Bangladeshis are undoubtedly the lowest, slimiest variety. Like feral dogs they sneak into India whining and licking shoes, start doing manual jobs and then support ISI inspired terrorism in India. They are known as HuJi and some found to be involved in every terrorist attack. Last week the same scum mutinied over pay and now they are finding bodies of officers and their wives who have been tortured, killed and buried in shallow graves. There is only one solution for rabid dogs, extermination. Trouble is they breed like vermin and have spread throughout the world including the US, Europe and even Japan. They cause trouble wherever they go so the entire world will have to deal with them someday soon. Meanwhile Pakistan which earlier lost its eastern part has now lost the Swat valley to the Taliban. The Paki army and especially the ISI thought that they will be able to break India but now having ceded one part they will gradually lose bigger chunks to different terrorist groups until the army will control only a little rump aound Islamabad. A huge civil war will erupt when each group tries to get control of nuclear weapons. Islam is violence. Face the truth.

Sadly for India our freeloading journalists never write the truth. They just repeat whatever garbage they are fed by politicians and kleptocrats like parrots without scepticism or enquiry. It was obvious that India was in the midst of a gigantic bubble waiting to burst with Sensex at 21000 and house prices doubling in one year. The bubble was used to massively increase indirect taxes across the board. We even have to pay service tax on our accountant's charges to file our tax returns which means paying sevice tax to pay income tax, an abomination which probably does not exist anywhere else. All this extra loot allowed the kleptocrats to give themselves huge salary increases and will increase the rate of bribes they charge. Well, lies and theft will out. The Sensex is down to 8892. Growth has fallen from 9% to 5.3% in the last quarter and the rupee has fallen to 50.39 to the dollar from 39. Headlines say that inflation has fallen to 3.4% but read on and right at the end you find that food inflation is 8.6%. 230 million are undernourished, 50% of deaths in children due to malnutrition. 43% of children under 5 years are underweight, greater than sub saharan africa at 28%. And so it goes on and on. So what are the looters doing for the aam aadmi? Five luxury aircrafts for ministers at Rs. 9.5 billion, salary increases upto 60% for kleptocrats and a proposal to allow ministers to take friends and relatives in airlines at tax payers' expense. India is being slowly murdered. No sharam, no izzat.

Several anonymous bloggers left comments saying that Shiv Sena is trying to divide the country along region and caste lines on a fellow called Ajith D.'s web community. Incensed the youth wing of Shive Sena has filed a criminal complaint with the police. Ajith D. approached the Supreme Court to quash the complaint but the court refused to do so. It seems that in India it is alright for local goons in Mumbai to beat up people from the north whom they derisively refer to as ' bhaiyas ' as opposed to as some creature called ' marathi manoos.' Several in the main stream press have been very scathing of Sena's and especially Raj Thackeray's tactics but have not been accused of anything. The ULFA in Assam is doing the same thing while kannadiggas want all jobs to be reserved for locals. Surely if each local community is to claim the state for itself and demand the removal of all other Indians then the country will end up being divided. It is impossible to understand how this is defamation ( which is a civil offense ) and why it is a criminal case. Have the police in Mumbai nothing better to do? Have they forgotten their totally inept performance during the attack by Paki terrorists? While Indians are being denied job opportunities outside their respective states Bangladeshis are swamping this country. Seems that 300,000 have managed to get voter identity cards in UP. These are providing ISI of Pakistan with all the terrorists they want. With the justice system occupied by trivia I despair for my country.

After thirteen, yes thirteen, years Mr. Sukh Ram, who was telecom minister under Mr. Narasimha Rao has been sentenced to a derisive three years in prison for accumulating more than Rs. 40 million in, what is known as, disproportinate income. As I recall notes were found stuffed in mattresses and pillows by CBI sleuths. Why has it taken so long when the evidence was so clear and why such a ludicrously low sentence? Ministers have to take an oath to protect the constitution so when they violate their oath they are guilty of treason and deserve at least 3o years. He is already 82 years old and plans to appeal so one can assume that he will die of old age before he pays. Meanwhile Raju of Satyam has been shifted to a luxury cell with clean sheets and tv. He has confessed to his crimes without duress and so should be immediately tried and sentenced to a very long jail term. While he is sweeping the floors he can be questioned about the various details of his fraud. Meanwhile steps are on to protect him. SEBI, the Stock Exchange regulator, were not allowed to question him for over a month and had to approach the Supreme Court to get access to him. The case is to be handed over to the CBI but, ramarkably, the local CID, who have been investigating the case so far will not hand over any evidence to the CBI officers. Now that bloggers may be charged with criminal offense for telling the truth as they see it I will not say what I think of the entire justice and poltical scene in India. No sharam, no izzat.

Saw the whole of Obama's speech this morning. Good language and very well delivered as we have come to expect from him. After a very long time there were three democrats, Joe Biden, Nancy Pelosi and Obama, on the dais. I thought that his speech trashed Bush pretty comprehensively. He started with the economic disaster created by Bush. End of huge executive bonuses that the GOP supports. Support to alternative energy sources away from oil, Bush's cronies. No torture, a kick in the lower regions of Cheney/Rumsfeld/Bush. No tax cuts for the rich which started the era of huge fiscal deficits. Healthcare cover for everyone including the poor. Stress on education for every child which means no more morons for anyone to endure. A start on tackling the humungous deficit so that future generations do not have a burden to start with. The Republicans sat with glum faces and were churlish in their applause. I remember them giving enthusiastic standing ovations to Bush's stupidities including the ' axis of evil ' idea which resulted in the Iraq mess. Even now they will not cooperate with Obama even though the country is crying out for firm bipartisan action. They show themselves to be without shame or honour and a party of criminally thickskinned. However though the GOP have proved themselves to be a party of knaves the question still remains about how Obama is going to fund his stimulus plan. We will know probably by this time next year. Hopefully the answer will not be a world wide crash.

I have not seen Slumdog Millionaire but so I suspect have half the idiots who were celebrating on the streets yesterday. I have seen the BBC celebrating the victory of a British film by a British director. A BBC reporter went with one of the child actors of the film to where his father lay under an awning of some sacking material. He claimed to be dying of TB. The boy said that he hated life in the slum which was like that of a dog. He should have told his father that. Only a dog would give birth to a load of children without having a roof over his head. TB was also the cause of death of the father of Balram Halwai, hero of the Booker Prize winning novel by Aravind Adiga. I have read the book in which the hero murders his employer, who has been treating him very well, and robs the money he was carrying to pay bribes to government officers and starts a transport business for call centre employees in Bangalore. India has had a family planning programme running since the 1950s and poor people are aware of it. They are not stupid. They do not produce so many children as an insurance against old age but to send these children out to work as soon as possible and then live on their earnings. They pretend innocence and demand free handouts from the politicians in return for their votes thus depriving the educated people of any say in the running of the country. No country can survive this exponential growth in its underclass yet that is what these liberals tell us we should do. No wonder they are called wooly headed.

The UK government has a massive headache with suspected Islamic terrorists. The European Court of Human Rights has ruled that prolonged detention of terror suspects without charge is illegal and awarded damages to those who were held. Not only will the governement have to release these murderers but, adding to its outrage, will have to pay compensation. Thus in these days of economic hardship where people are losing their homes Islamic fanatics will receive payment for plotting or helping in the murder of British citizens. The case of Abu Qatada is particularly infuriating. This revolting person of Palestinian origin openly promotes hostility to western countries but is fighting extradition to Jordan. The government case is weakened by the fact that they are unable to release all the proof they have against him because that might help to identify informers and bring about their deaths. Still the Law Lords have allowed him to be deported but he is now taking his case to the EU Court of Human Rights. Wonder where these scum get their financing. They come into western countries as penniless refugees and yet seem to have endless funds to carry on with limitless litigation. Lawyers in these countries are bloodsuckers and one can easily run up bills of hundreds of thousands of pounds. Saudi Arabia is a known financier of terrorists as is Iran. Are these ancient enemies collaborating in the business of murder?

The world economy is in a mess. The predictions range from recession to depression to deflation. The Indian government has been trying to stimulate the economy but it has limited scope for further action. Having given massive increases to useless civil servants and paid for cancelling bank loans of farmers the deficit has already reached 6% of GDP and taking states into account will reach 10%. Internal debt is set to reach 80% of GDP. Tax receipts are expected to fall further limiting government spending. Exports have been hit hard. Already 5 million jobs have been lost and a further 10 million are expected to go. Industrial output has declined two months running and could continue to do so if people cut spending. The pressure is on for the Reserve Bank to reduce interest rates. The Bank seems curiously reluctant to do so even though interest are near zero in the US and Japan and falling elsewhere. Maybe the Bank is afraid of a run on the rupee. Yet evreyone from minister to kleptocrat to business tycoon predicts a growth rate of 7% next fiscal. For a trillion dollar economy 7% is $ 70 billion which amounts to Rs. 3.5 trillion. Surely such a massive amount should employ millions more? Yet Mr. Pranab Mukherjee, who is standing in for the Prime Minister, who was standing in for the Finance Minister, who morphed into Home Minister says that employees should take a cut in wages to prvent job cuts. Er, the maths seem like Satyam accounts.

Seems that the government has had second thoughts about introducing a bill in parliament which would allow ministers to take friends and relatives while travelling by air at taxpayers expense. So far they were allowed to take only wife and children but the bill would have allowed them to take anyone they wanted. This is supposed to be part of their salary and perks and would undoubtedly have come in very handy. For one, any minister would be able to sell a few seats on the plane for some taxfree shopping. After all a few bottles of single malt would help them relax nicely. Secondly they can show their caring sides. For instance a niece is missing her newly married husband who has gone for a temporary assignment to the US. No problem. Take her along for a bit of cootchie coo with her husband and bring the smile back to her lips. Taxpayer pays. Thirdly one could reward a good act. ' This blogger is getting too big for his boots. Silence him and come with me for a merry trip to Paris and Amsterdam.' Taxpayer pays. With elections imminent they did not have the guts to introduce the bill now but will undoubtedly do so just after. There is no reason why a minister should be allowed to take his children while travelling on official business let alone friends and distant relatives. Just proves what I have been saying all along. Our politicians are a bunch of criminal beggars and our journalists are freeloaders. No sharam, no izzat.

Like every other Indian I am convinced that Indian cricketers have been treated harshly when compared to players from white countries. Sachin Tendulkar's test average would probably have been in the eightees if not for blatant umpiring decisions. The number of times he has been given out when rapped on the pads a foot outside the stumps or caught behind when the ball clearly flicked off his shirt is beyond count. With neutral umpires officiating wrong decisions seem to have balanced out but there is no excuse for the onesided decisions of the third umpire who dish out fines and suspensions to Indians while being blind to the crimes of the white skins. Australians had been abusing opponents with complete freedom but when Harbhajan Singh retaliated all hell broke loose. Unfortunately with most of the money coming from India they could not ride roughshod over us as easily as before. Most cricket boards have compromised with the situation in the interest of their players but the English just could not tolerate the situation. After all cricket was invented in England. When IPL started last year the English Board would not allow its players to participate. IPL was a great success and foreign players made a lot of money except the English which gave rise to a lot of resentment. Along came Sir Alan Stanford, a white man, who put up a million dollars in cash to the winner between England and the West Indies. Sadly England lost and the Windies took the entire jackpot. Now comes the news that Stanford has swindled $ 8 billion and the English Board are looking for excuses. Being racist was alright when you had an empire but not when you are slaves of the Americans. What say.

Having lost the last time out Hugo Chavez has won the referendum not to be limited to two terms as president and to be able to stand as many times as required. No doubt he will claim that this is ' democracy ' as is claimed by Kim Jong Il, Hu Jin Tao and Robert Mugabe. To politicians around the world democracy has come to mean a mark on a piece of paper every four to six years but every politician secretly wants to be a king and behaves like one. Whether it is Tiananmen Square, the Patriot Act or the DNA archive ( in the UK ) the idea is to control the people and acquire absolute power, all in the name of protecting the same stupid people. In India we are so proud of our democracy when compared to those of our neighbours, congratulating ourselves for our elections which get rid of one set of ugly geriatric scoundrels for another. Do you choose a murderer or a rapist? Perhaps a shameless footlicking chamcha will be better than a smuggler? Innumerable parties led by ugly old men who refuse to die and are grooming their drugged, criminal sons to follow them. Elections are won by appealing to religion, caste or linguistic groups. Black money and armed goons give status. Uneducated naked people are bought with promises of free electricity, rice at Rs. 2 per kilo or free saris, all at taxpayer's expense. It is no wonder that politicians are totally despised and almost every state in India has some kind of armed group fighting the state. General elections are scheduled for May. Another chance to mark one's favourite ugly villain. What fun democracy!

In Britain a girl of 15 has given birth to a baby girl fathered by a 13 year old. They were 14 and 12 when she became pregnant. Had an adult had a relationship with one of these children he or she would have been jailed for paedophilia and labelled for life but no punishment will meted out to these two. Instead they will be paid child benefit financed by the tax payer. But what of the baby? These two are clearly too young, inexperienced and unemployed to look after a baby. No other animal baby is as helpless as a human one because a more mature baby would have a brain so big that it would not pass through the mother's birth canal. Also only humans have the power of language which, in turn, needs years of education before adulthood. Meanwhile in the US a single mother, who already has six children, has given birth to octuplets by IVF. Unless she is a sow with eight teats it is hard to imagine how she is going to breast feed all of them. She lives in a 3 bedroom apartment with her mother supporting her previous children so how she is going to hold on to a job to support so many is hard to imagine. Possibly she is hoping to earn a lot of money publishing her story. What of the babies? Surely every human child has the right to expect the best living conditions, education and parental care possible and clearly the above parents will fall far short. It seems to be an accepted fact that every woman has the right to have babies and to say anything different would invite the accusation of eugenics. But surely babies have rights too and the most important one would be the right NOT to be born.

The UK government has decided not to bring criminal charges against armed policemen who cold bloodedly executed Jean Charles de Menezes, an electrician from Brazil, in an underground train at Stockwell station. No surprise there. In a farcical inquest last month the coroner, Sir Something or the Other, would not allow the jury to bring in a verdict of unlawful killing because it would mean that officers were guilty of murder. He allowed them a choice between lawful killing or open verdict. Why have a jury if they are not allowed to have an opinion? Better still why have an inquest at all? Why not write your own verdict and save the taxpayer an awful lot of money. The policemen, who were not identified, shed tears of repentance and lied about shouting a warning before killing the innocent man in cold blood. The jury showed their disbelief by bringing in an open verdict. The UK justice system is totally corrupt. In the past there have been innumerable cases where innocent people were locked up for years for crimes they did not commit such as the Guidford four and the Birmigham six. IRA prisoners in custody were shot in the back in Gibralter. Lawrence, a black teenager, was murdered in cold blood by white youths but the police did not investigate even though everyone knew who they were. The list is too long for me to remember. I would not care but for the fact that British ministers dare to lecture others on corruption. Surely the thing to do would be to make a list of all the cases and hand a copy to the next idiot who dares to lecture. But that would mean we have people with character.

One of the ways that developed countries show their superiority is by making their citizens more important than those of the third world. Thus the US maintained sanctions against Vietnam for over 20 years and only lifted them when the Vietnamese agreed to find the bodies of soldiers who had been missing in action since the Vietnam war in which the US was the aggressor, committed innumerable war crimes and lost. The sanctions were a way to tell the world that dead Americans were more important than millions of living Vietnamese. Similarly the Syrian who is alleged to have bombed the Pan Am flight over Lockerbie is still in jail in Scotland but the captain of the American warship who cold bloodedly shot down an Iranian airline plane full of civilians is free to enjoy his life and boast about his kill. Third world leaders kill their own people to stay in power and think that this gives them status. Not so. Robert Mugabe may strut around protected by his thugs but if his people are reduced to picking grains of wheat from the road like rats then as head of state he is also a rat. You may class yourself as VVIP and spend Rs. 9.5 billion buying luxury aircraft but if the aam aadmi are living in conditions worse than cattle then what are you?

The attacks in Mumbai were on 26 November. Since then Pakistan has lied about the origin of the terrorists. It has insulted India by rubishing the dossier of proof provided by us. It has added to the insults by threatening massive response if attacked including nuclear weapons and it has blackmailed the US by threatening to divert armed forces from the Afghan border leaving US and NATO forces more exposed to Taleban attacks. What has been this government's response to all these threats, insults and blackmail? The Foreign Minister, Pranab Mukherjee, has said that we will wait to see how the Pakis respond. In that case we will all be dead because the Pakis have absolutely no intention of doing anything and even now the ISI is planning the next attack. It is true that a war will result in many dead but not true that there is no other way. We should cut off all official and unofficial relations. Close our High Commission and ask the Pakis to get the hell out. Mine the border so heavily that not even a mosquito can cross. Stop all train and air links and stop any Paki earning money in Indian cinema or music. Build up troops on the border and threaten to bomb if anything at all happens inside India. If the Americans sqeal tell them that Indian lives are no less valuable and invite them to hit the Pakis from that side as we hit them from here and we can finish this filthy country of killers once and for all. I suspect the Congress is doing nothing so as not to upset the Indian muslims before the general elections. This has been the Congress strategy since 1947. How many more should die at the hands of the Congress?

Tiny item in today's newspaper. Seems that taxes are to be increased at Delhi airport by Rs. 200 on domestic fights and by Rs. 1300 on foreign flights. This is over and above extortionate taxes already being charged on airtravel and is to compensate the company improving the airport. Since the last two years private airlines have been teetering on the brink of insolvency, first due to increased oil prices and now due to the recession. Increasing taxes will further reduce air travel and may result in bankruptcies leaving only Air India which will survive inspite of bad management and terrible service because of taxpayer money. The national carrier may then be able to earn a profit as it has been merged with Indian Airlines. As people are forced to travel by trains Indian Railways will also make huge profits on undeservedly high ticket prices on air conditioned trains and by crooked practices such as selling half the tickets under Tatkal ( instant ) scheme at 20% premium thus forcing people to pay more for the same service. Of course all this is done in the name of the aam aadmi who will be offered cheap travel packed into Shtolypin cars in conditions not fit for animals. You do not have to look far for the gulag.

Inspite of billions of dollars of research no one can claim to know how the human mind works. The latest scans show parts of the brain related to pleasure, sorrow, fear or reward but no one can say why any one person reacts to a certain situation or predict how one person or a group will respond. This is the problem with economic theories or predictions. Nobel Prize winning economists can analyse the past and come up with fancy formulas but cannot predict what will happen in the future because this depends on human behaviour. No one predicted the current depression or the preceding burst of the dotcom bubble. Every time there is a boom we hear of a Goldilocks economy and any warning of a coming bust is laughed off as doom mongering. So now we have a situation where 700 billion dollars were doled out to ailing banks so that they would resume lending. Instead banks hoarded the cash and spent $ 18 billion in bonuses. So now another $ 800 billion dollars are going to be poured in. This response is based on analying the 1929 depression but the world today is totally different to what it was back then. With trillions of dollars pouring out of national coffers no one knows if central banks have any control over money supply, whether currency fluctuations will get out of control or whether public anger will cause unintended consequences like the break of the European Union. It is all about the ' psychology of the individual.' We may have been safer with Jeeves in charge.

A bunch of thugs in Mangalore entered a pub and beat up some women claiming that it is against Indian culture. It is totally against Indian, especially Hindu, culture to assault women and these goons should be thrashed to taste their own medicine. Papers are full of women repeating western feminist ideas that women and men are the same so they can behave in the same manner sexually. Not correct. First, only women become pregnant and even if abortion is available it is bad for health. Second, sex cannot happen without the consent of man. Thus a woman can never rape a man no matter how strong or well armed she is. Third, a man can entertain one woman or, at most, two women but a woman can and regularly take on a succession of men. Hence prostitution is almost totally a feminine enterprise. One common feminist rant is ' it is my body hence I can do whatever I please.' Sure it is. Why not smoke 40 a day, drink a bottle a day and take heroin and cocain? It is all about human anatomy and physiology and no amount of feminist ranting is going to change that soon. Should women have the freedom to have one or more men and go to pubs. Absolutely. Will they be called sluts if they are seen to be promiscuous? Most likely. Unfortunately men and women are not the same animals.

In Italy a young woman has been in a vegetative state for the last 17 years. Her father has been fighting for a long time to have her feeding tube removed so that she is allowed to die. Last November a court finally agreed to his request but the Prime Minister, Silvio Berlusconi has signed a decree forbidding it. There is no doubt that this most corrupt of politicians has taken this step not out of any concern for the young lady or for any ethical concern but for political considerations such as to please his right wing coalition partner, Forza Italia. Meanwhile the woman's parents are left wondering why such a vulnerable girl has become a political football, wondering if she is feeling any pain that she is unable to articulate and always always wondering what might have been. As a physician I would never agree to help in euthanasia yet as a person I fervently hope that my suffering should be ended if I am in a similar postion. Like Berlusconi a lot of doctors already suffer from 'God Complex' and it would be totally wrong to encourage that. Also doctors might be tempted to accept cash to end an old person's life so that his heirs are able to inherit his wealth. Once that happens trust between doctors and patients will be destroyed for ever. It is time that this painful and emotional issue is addressed with calm logic and a protocol laid down so as to avoid any anguish in the future.

Watching nature channels it is striking that animals mix only with individuals of their own kind. Carnivores do not tolerate any other species or member of a different clan within their territories. Thus on the serengeti lions will kill any other carnivore such as leopard, cheetah or hyena unlucky enough to get too close. Lions of one pride will attack and kill a lion belonging to a different pride if caught within their territory. Herbivores of different species do congregate in large numbers but stay strictly separate. Thus wildebeest and zebras migrate together and spend entire lives in close proximity but do not interbreed. They are four legged, eat grass and have similar life cycles. They are born together, migrate together, eat together and live their entire lives next to each other but look different and never mix. Humans from different parts of the world look completely different. Whereas animals live basic lives which are very similar humans are also totally different culturally. We have different languages, dress code, eating habits, religion and manners which make us more different than a zebra is to a gazelle. Politicians keep lecturing us as to how we are all brothers and sisters but the truth is that culture, language and religion divide us much more than appearance divides the animal world. Thus the clash of civilisations. Glib rhetoric about a post racial world after Obama's victory seems stupid to me.

A British citizen was apparently captured by American forces in Pakistan trying to get out with a false passport. He was taken to Morocco where he was tortured with the help of MI5. He was then brought to Afghanistan and thence was taken to Guantanamo. Two judges have now said that the details of his torture cannot be released because of US blackmail. The Americans have threatened to withold future intelligence sharing if this information is made public. Some years back the highest court in the land, the Law Lords, ruled 3-2 that the Chagos Islands would not be returned to the islanders because the US needed its base in Diego Garcia in the Indian Ocean to continue its fight against terror. This is clear evidence of how the Americans give orders to the British government which then obeys without question. It is not surprising that the first foreign trip of the new US Secretary of State, Hilary Clinton, is to Britain. David Milliband, the Foreign Secretary was all smiles at this renewal of the Special Relationship. So he should be. As a representative of the slave country he must be delighted to be given a list of orders that he and his country must obey. As the Queen is the head of a governement of slaves does that make her a maid servant of Foggy Bottom?

The Prime Minister has left hospital after successful cardiac bypass surgery at All India Institute of Medical Sciences or AIIMS. Wish him well. During his government in the last five years AIIMS has had to put up with many problems. The first was due to the HRD minister, Arjun Singh who increased the number of seats reserved for low caste candidates. AIIMS students and house staff went on strike because the lower caliber of students would lower standards, a very legitimate grievance. The strike was put down with brutality that the
gestapo would have been proud of. As a man of principle the Prime Minister should have asked for a team consisting of only reservation doctors and thus would have put all suspicions to rest. That he did not shows what contempt and fear he has of them. The second problem was created by the Health Minister, Ramadoss who harassed the previous director, a doctor of some renown, only to put his own stooge in. The Supreme Court was scathing in its remarks of Ramadoss's actions. This resulted in many of the faculty leaving and morale falling to rock bottom. The Prime Minister showed his opinion of AIIMS by flying in a team from the Asian Heart Institute in Mumbai who even brought their own instruments. Thus has Nehru's creation been destroyed by this government in just one term. No sharam, no izzat.

Seems that a Professor Dhurandar in Lousiana, USA has found that a comman adenovirus, AD 36 is responsible for obesity in humans. Before this we have OB genes and a hormone called leptin which have been held responsible. Obesity is compatible with a life long enough to produce children therefore one would expect many people to have the OB gene, low levels of leptin and then to be infected with AD 36 and these people would be lucky enough to pile on the pounds with just a slice of bread with a drop of lemon juice. In fact this would be so advantageous that one would have thought that the evolutionary advantage would have humans belonging to this select combination only. In fact with improving technology one could breed such humans and a farm in Lousiana could feed the entire human population. The sad truth is that fat comes from excess intake of calories and fat people eat too much. It is possible that their metabolism being more efficient they need less calories rather like a hybrid car but no one gets fat without eating. Truly fat people all over the world behave in exactly the same way. They deny eating too much, steal food when no one is looking and binge from time to time. They behave exactly like addicts. Unfortunately there seems to be some crazy political correctness which is preventing even scientists from telling the truth. Once truth is accepted and fat people are seen to be food addicts then treatment would probably follow.

Seems that there is a lot of outrage over the distruction in Gaza. The British Bakwas Corporation, BBC keeps showing spokespersons from UN agencies and aid agencies calling for trials of Israeli soldiers for war crimes. Strangely no one seems to be talking about Hamas or Hizbollah. Not a single journalist rushed to Lebanon to ask Hassan Nasrallah why his people fired at least six rockets inot Israel. That is if they can find him when he is hiding in his wife's abaya. Hamas chief Khaled Meshal slinks in the backstreets of Damascus while Hamas leaders in Palestine hide behind the diapers of little children. They do not lead their people but use teenagers and little boys to attack Israeli soldiers. Naturally children will be using school compounds to fire rockets and, also naturally, if Israeli soldiers fire back children are going to die. It is horrible that innocent children have been killed and injured in Gaza. No child should ever have to suffer the kinds of horror the palestinian children have suffered but if Israel is to blame then Hamas cowards are equally to blame. Today in DR Congo one Thomas Lubanga has gone on trial for using child soldiers. If he can be charged with such a crime then Hamas leaders surely deserve to be charged as well. As long as there is no truth in journalism there will be no end to wars. When Hamas were firing rockets no one asked them to stop or held them to account but soon as Israel responded every was crying out for a ceasefire. Seems that anitsemitism is thriving.

It has now been accepted that Britain is officially in a recession which is contraction of the economy for two succeeding quarters. The Prime Minister, Mr. Gordon Brown blamed the global economy, read the US, for the gloomy news seemingly forgetting that he has been the Chancellor of the Exchequer for over a decade. During that time he has enthusiastically carried out the policies of the previous Prime Minister, Tony Blair which were said to belong to New Labour. This involved mass privatisation of everything including the railways, the NHS and the utilities allowing, in the process, private companies to make windfall profits at the cost of the hapless taxpayers. He was a supporter of less regulation for the City allowing market players to do pretty much whatever they wanted and earn huge bonuses for ever reckless gambling with other people's money. Mr. Brown did not learn anything from having to renationalise Railtrack a few years earlier preferring to see it as an exception rather than a portent of things to come. When I worked in the NHS patients were treated as necessary with doctors deciding priorities. Today administrators, with little knowledge, are paid vast amounts to run an ever deteriorating service. True the waiting lists for cataract and hip replacement have come down but you have to wait at least six weeks for an ultrasound which surely is worse than the third world. Mr. Brown is throwing humungous amounts of money into the economy hoping that he can stimulate growth so that he can recoup the expense from rising tax collections in a growing economy. Surely he should have learnt by now that his favourite market has a habit of throwing a spanner at your soft spot when you least expect it.

The Prime Minister, Mr. Manmohan Singh has undergone a cardiac bypass surgery this morning at the premier medical institution, All India Institute of Medical Sciences or AIIMS. We wish him well and hope that he recovers quickly to lead the Congress Party at the coming general elections in May. He had a similar operation in England about 20 years ago probably also paid by the taxpayer. As he lies in bed while recovering from the operation he could reflect on the state of health care in the country some 61 years after independence in 1947. Of these 61 years the Congress has ruled in about 55 years, the same Congress that is forever shedding tears about the aam aadmi. Check it out. In India an XRay or ECG costs $ 3, a CT scan of the brain $ 30 and an MRI $100. Drugs are so cheap that people travelling to other countries including Pakistan carry their entire requirement of prescription medicines for their total stay. Yet thousands die every year for lack of treatment. Last year a woman was refused admission to a government hospital in Meerut in UP. She delivered under a tree just outside the gates of the hospital. Both mother and child died. Instead of accepting responsibility politicians blame doctors and since they control the media people accept their lies. While you read the newspapers to pass the time Mr. Prime Minister please note the excitement about the Oscar nominations of Slumdog Millionaire which is based on Dharavi, the largest slum in Asia.

To worldwide acclaim Obama was sworn in as president. On the 200th anniversary of Abraham Lincoln, Obama has chosen him as his role model. Like Lincoln Obama is a lawyer and a very good speaker. He is also a very good organiser as his successful campaign and phenomenal fundraising show. As he starts his period in the Oval office he should remember one fact and that is that Lincoln is great only because he won the civil war. Had he lost the war America would have been divided. The North would be a small industrial state and the South would still be practising slavery. Germany would probably have won the war and Martin Luther King would not have been allowed to have any dreams. By winning the war and uniting the country Lincoln laid the foundations of the modern US, the richest and the most powerful country in the world. Obama has no civil war to fight. However he has a very deep recession on his hands and Al Qaeda still flourishing and threatening the world. It remains to be seen if he is able to tell the truth about terrorism and that is that Pakistan is the centre of all terrorists in the world and has to be effectively eliminated or will he continue the same old and tired line of cooperation with the ISI. The Inca callender predicts 21st December 2012 as the day the world ends which will be at the end of the present term. We wish him well and hope that he is successful in his endeavours as president. Otherwise the Inca prediction might well come true.

Do not get what the Arabs are playing at. Egypt is trying to mediate between Israel and Hamas and its proposal includes plans for foreign monitors along the border to prevent smuggling of weapons by Hamas. All the tunnels are ending inside Egypt and Iran is supplying weapons to Hamas through Egypt. Thus Egypt is allowing Iran to use its land for illegal purposes which surely is an insult to its sovereignty. Assad of Syria said, in an interview on the BBC' that Israel's actions will increase extremism and breed terrorists. That is so much rubbish. Public anger and hatred in the Arab world is against its leaders. Oasama bin Laden started his fight against the Saudi Royal family and every Egyptian doctor I have met simply hates the President as a dictator. To save themselves the Arab government divert public anger towards Israel and allow Iran to use their people and land for its own agenda. With US forces withdrawing from Iraq, Iran will be able to dominate the entire gulf oil supply by moving along Saudi and Kuwait borders. It can then try and capture the Holy Mosques in Saudi Arabia. It tried to capture Makkah once but failed. Next time maybe not. If Iran acquires nuclear weapons it will have a Persian empire not seen since the days of Darius. Tiny Israel, even with nuclear weapons, is no threat but Iran ia altogether much bigger and formidable.

Read this story a long time ago. Seems that Roosevelt walked into Churchill's room at 10 Downing Street one morning when Churchill was just emerging stark naked from the bathroom. Embarassed FDR turned to go when Churchill said,' Please don't leave Mr. President. After all the Prime Minister of Britain has nothing to hide from the President of the United States.' This naked surrender has seen successive Prime Ministers of Britain as 'running dog lick spittle of the US' doing whatever their masters across the Atlantic ordered. Blair was portrayed as the poodle of Bush but that would be to insult dogs in general. After dogs have a natural dignity and respond to the love shown by the owner. Blair's abject obedience was akin to that of slaves. Americans have a history of owning slaves and are quite comfortable doing so. Thus Bush addressed Blair as ' Yo, Blair ' much as he would have addressed his favourite slave in the olden days. Some have seen Britain as the 51st state of the US but states in the US have a lot of autonomy which Britain does not enjoy. That explains Britain's humility and support of any American misadventure as in Iraq. Thus it was hilarious to see the anxiety expressed by the BBC reporter this morning because Hilary Clinton did not mention Britain and the ' Special Relationship ' in her speech to the Senate Foreign Affairs Committee. She mentioned India, China and every European country but not the UK. The fellow's lip was quivering. If the master is getting indifferent what happens to the slave nation?

s soon as a state government is elected all the old senior police and civil service fellows are transferred out and a new set of fellows brought in. These people are not selected according to merit but by the total loyalty they show for the new bunch of crooks. The stage is then set for the politicians to loot, murder and rape with impunity. Canny business men bribe both sides so that they are protected whichever side wins. When a crime is exposed the criminal tries to take Anticipatory Bail to stop police arresting him. This can be taken in any state, way outside the jurisdiction of the crime. If that is not possible because of public outcry, as in the Jessica Lal case, then the criminal is arrested, produced in front of a magistrate with great show and remanded to custody. The fellow then develops mysterious chest pains for which he is transferred to a luxurious nursing home where he lives in 5 star comfort as Mr. Raju of Nagarjuna is doing even now. A divine judge usually finds enough cause to set a paltry bail and free the criminal. The case is frequently delayed often taking years during which time the witnesses are threatened or bribed as in the BMW Nandas case. Eventually the fellow escapes. Even better, for politicians we have first class jails where they are given wall to wall comfort at our expense. And they wonder why politicians, police and judges are despised and mistrusted.

The government has broken the strike by oil executives demanding a pay rise by using the draconian Essential Services Maintenance Act or ESMA. It is also using the same law on the truck companies who are demanding a lowering of diesel prices apparently because they are incurring losses due to the present high prices. By using this law the authorities can arrest, suspend or sack anyone who is on strike even for legitimate demands. Pity the filthy politicians do not use the Act on themselves. Parliament sat for less than 100 days last year and yet they draw their full salaries and allowances costing the country billions. No sharam, no izzat. Meanwhile the government plans to pass a law forbidding live coverage of natural and terrorist events as happened in Mumbai. Apparently the handlers based in Pakistan were watching Indian channels and were directing the terrorists on where to attack. Where were the police officials and the senior secretaries? Why did they not cordon off the area of operations? Why was there no sanitised zone around the commandoes? There is no attempt to punish these useless parasites but the tragedy is being used to decrease press freedom. Rajiv Gandhi tried it once but retreated due to huge protests. Now the Congress thinks it can prevail. Indira Gandhi made herself dictator by proclaiming emergency. Her daughter in law is more cunning.

On 29th December I wrote that the Satyam saga reminds me of Conrad Black and Hollinger but it seems that I was wrong and it is being likened to Enron. If I remember rightly an awful lot of managers of Enron are still in prison and the CEO escaped by dying. In the case of Satyam I doubt that Mr. Raju will be seen in a striped uniform. At first their will be an enquiry which will go on for months after which a case may be filed. Our divine judges are usually in no hurry and so the date may be set after a few years. By this time everyone will have forgotten what it was all about and Mr. Raju will have started some other business. After a decade or so a fine of Rs. 10000 or $200 will be levied on him and things will carry on as before. Fortunately in this case Satyam is listed on the New York Stock Exchange and the SEC in the US might have something to say. Satyam stocks have lost 80% of their value hurting US shareholders and trading was suspended yesterday. If the SEC finds Mr. Raju guilty he will have to pay millions of dollars in fines and go to prison in the US for a long time. Hope that happens. It will teach our business tycoons and regulators that globalisation means increased profits as well as genuine punishment.

The Orange revolution in Ukraine was financed by the US. Like Shakashvili in Georgia Yushenko is a US stooge whose only goal is to join NATO and goad Russia. His government has been shambolic and the economy is in tatters. Although anti Russian he wants Russia to supply gas to Ukraine at the same subsidised rate as Bylorussia which is a friend. Gazprom was ready to supply gas at a slightly higher rate but he did not renew the contract which expired on 31st December preferring to steal gas from pipelines supplying western European countries. When the USSR collapsed Russia embraced democracy for the first time. Yeltsin was a drunken buffoon but instead of helping Russia to develop a strong economy and strong institutions the US and the Europeans chose to taunt and humiliate it. So the Russians chose Putin who has confronted the west. Now they do not like it and are whining. The US and the Europeans should embrace Russia because they will need its help. The real enemies are China and Pakistan. Sadly the liars and knaves in charge will not realise it till it is too late.

The world seems to be running on lies. Lie no. 1 - A Palestinian state. There has never been a state or a country called Palestine. It was always a part of Jordan and has been ruled by outsiders such as the Syrians, Ottomans or the British. Lie no. 2 - Somali pirates are have a very good supply of sophisticated weapons. Somalia is a failed state incapable of manufacturing a drawing pin let alone AK47s or RPGs. These weapons are manufactured by billion dollar arms manufacturing companies in the US, UK, China, Russia and other European countries and finding their way into the hands of terrorists everywhere. Thus to control terrorism, piracy and drug wars all we need to do is to look at what the arms companies are doing and control where they supply weapons. Unfortunately governments will do nothing to control their arms companies and will keep lying and people will keep dying. Lie no 3 - Tutsis are victims of the Hutus. The truth is that Hutus are the majority and have been a peaceful agricultural people. Belgium, the colonial power, armed the minority Tutsis and created an army to control the majority Hutus. Thus the Tutsis have been oppressing the Hutus for decades. Even now the Tutsis are fighting and killing thousands in the Congo. Until the politicians and journalists start telling the truththere will never be any end to conflicts.
