Five days have passed since the earthquake hit Haiti on tuesday but no aid has yet reached the ground. The facile excuse being trotted out is that there is no infrastructure. Of course there is no blasted infrastructure because whatever there was has been flattened by the earthquake. Seems that rescue teams have had to go back because they could not land at the airport and whatever aid that has reached is still sitting on the tarmac and nothing so far has reached the people. If the will had been really strong aid could have been flown into the Dominican Republic next door and then taken in by road. Astonishingly americans have only just begun to arrive with President Obama promising every kind of help. Does he think people buried under tons of rubble in the heat of the southern hemisphere summer will wait patiently until the great americans arrive with some water and bandaid. Upto 200000 are feared to have died. However Haitians should mind. People died of thirst in New Orleans too after hurricane Katrina when infrastructure was no problem. All that hype about ' change ' but there is no difference between Bush and Obama - a moron and a gasbag.
