Public crimes.

"The Supreme Court will hear the application filed by the State Bank of India (SBI) seeking extension till June 30 to disclose details of each electoral bond encashed by political parties before the scheme was scrapped last month." "The contempt pleas, filed by NGOs Association for Democratic Reforms and Common Cause, claimed SBI's application  seeking extension of time has been deliberately filed at the last moment to ensure details of donor and the amount of donations are not disclosed to the public before the upcoming Lok Sabha elections." DH. The general election will be over in May (wikipedia) and a new government will have been sworn in by then, so, if Mr Modi succeeds in winning an overwhelming majority with 400 seats, as he is predicting (TIE), then he won't care. SBI is a public sector bank, but it is trying to deceive us, its owners, using our money. Is that a criminal offence? A trove of documents, "which transparency activist Commodore Lokesh Batra had shared with The Collective," revealed that the SBI, "on Union Finance Ministry's beckoning, was able to collate data on electoral bonds from across the country within 48 hours after the deadline to encash the bonds ended." The Wire. So, when SBI claims it will take months to match buyers with donors of the bonds it is being economical with the truth and perjury is definitely a criminal offence. With the election just days away, "The abrupt resignation of Arun Goel as Election Commissioner days before the expected announcement of the schedule for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections has raised eyebrows, " as "Arun Goel's term was until November 2027 and he was slated to become the Chief Election Commissioner in 2025." HT. Apparently, insiders have hinted at differences between Goel and the Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Rajiv Kumar during their visit to West Bengal but the reason is not known. TH. A sudden acute attack of honor or to stand as a candidate for the BJP in the coming election, as some opposition members allege (TOI)? The V-Dem Liberal Democracy Index (LDI) has ranked India at 104 out of 179 countries and "now situated between Niger (better) and Ivory Coast (worse)". As per the report, India is "one of the top ten autocratisers in recent times, with pulling down democracy at levels it was in 1975." The Wire. Who cares what foreigners say. But then, "Dumka gang-rape: The couple said in a video interview to Spanish TV Channel Antena 3 that the men raped her and hit the husband repeatedly." "Several foreign media also extensively covered the Dumka gang-rape incident." HT. In response, "Rekha Sharma, the chairperson of India's federal National Commission for Women lashed out...at a comment by US-based writer and journalist David Josef Volodzko," for his comments made in the context of the alleged gang-rape. Independent. Rape is an insignificant offence for this government. "Dera Sacha Sauda chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh, who is serving a 20-year-jail-term in Rohtak's Sunaria jail for raping two disciples, has been granted a 50-day parole." This is the seventh time he has been freed in the last two years. HT. Haryana has a BJP-led government and the Chief Minister is from the BJP. wikipedia. India was represented as Bharat at the G20 summit in New Delhi. CNN. And, Bharat is worshiped as a Mata (Mother). wikipedia. Her children are being crushed by this regime. Cry our Mother.
