The propaganda channels BBC and CNN try to present American and NATO soldiers as heroes trying to bring civilisation to ungrateful Afghan barbarians who respond by trying to kill them. Few days ago 30 American Seals were killed when a Taliban fighter brought down a Chinook helicopter they were travelling in. Today we learnt that the fighter has been killed by US bombing. To justify the killing by portraying the Taliban as cruel murderers one of the widows of the dead Seals was shown with tears running down her cheeks saying,'... he was a wonderful husband and a fabulous father to two wonderful children. He was a warrior for Christ and he was a warrior for our country...." While this video will play well in white skinned ex colonial countries it will only infuriate all Afghans and muslims. Firstly, the US is an invader of Afghanistan and, as such, every US man woman and child in that country is a part of an occupying force and thus fair game. Just as Americans felt violated by the attacks on the twin towers so the Afghans have every right to feel violated by US boots on their soil. It was the presence of US soldiers in Saudi Arabia which so infuriated Osama bin Laden that he formed Al Qaeda. Bin Laden is dead but, by causing the US to attack Iraq resulting its deficit to go out of control and bring it close to economic chaos, he has succeeded in his vow of hurting the US. Secondly, just as the Americans see themselves as warriors " for Christ " so the muslims see them as infidels and Crusaders waging a war against Islam. Muslims are significant populations in every country in the world and breeding like bacteria. Warriors " for Christ " should not underestimate the warriors for Islam. It will be a fight to the finish.
