The fate of our children.

After an exasperating month the general elections will end on 12 May. Because exit polls are banned during this period there will be an explosion on all news channels as anchors shout to drown one another. Results will be announced on 16 May when we will know whether India will have a second " tryst with destiny " with a clear majority for the BJP or whether the Congress and other anti-Indian parties have enough seats to stymie the will of the people and keep us poor forever. China, South Korea, Taiwan, Singapore and Japan, were destroyed by war. Japan had 2 cities wiped out by nuclear explosions. Yet look at them now. How rich and successful they are. But what really hurts is how clean and beautiful their cities and countryside are compared to the disgusting filth everywhere you go in India. The reason is that they are truly independent while our politicians have conspired to keep us enslaved by the west. We have had 14 Prime Ministers so far and all of them, except Mr Vajpayee, have been of the Congress or broke away from it and they have kept us third world. We beg for people from other countries to come to India while they treat us like beggars if we want to travel to their countries. They do not have to apply for visa to come here but we have to apply with a sheaf of documents, stand in queue for hours and then get refused for no reason. The western press has been full of venomous articles about Mr Narendra Modi. They call him a ' Hindu nationalist ', as an abuse. Does the US not have a Patriot Act and has Obama not dropped his middle name ' Hussein '? Is it a crime to be a Hindu and a proud Indian? They are getting their cues from their politicians who are used to Indian politicians bowing low in front of the white masters and are unsettled by someone who maybe capable of independent thought. However, in all the cacophony of electioneering no one has asked us what we, the people, want. We want our economy to grow at a faster rate but with low inflation. We want low and simple taxes, even on beer, so that we can spend what we earn. We want world class services, a fall in population, top class infrastructure and a clean environment. We want to be proud to be Indians and for that we want an end to the VIP and VVIP abomination which makes us second class citizens. To deliver all that the BJP will need a solid majority but will they get it? Sadly, Indians are motivated only by narrow minded self interest and have no concept of a nation. On 16 May we will know our fate and the future of our children.
