A rogue institution within a rogue state.

The Karachi Naval Dockyard is the home port and strategic nerve center of Pakistan's fleet, wrote T Hundley. "It was here, during the quiet predawn of May 6, 2014 that four rogue naval officers walked up the gangway of the PNS Zulfiqar, a 4000-ton frigate that was preparing to put to sea. A guard inspected their ID badges and saluted. Once on board, their plan was to join up with another group of six militants disguised in marine uniforms who were approaching the Zulfiqar in an inflatable dinghy. Together they hoped to hijack the ship and use it to attack a US Navy Patrol in the Indian Ocean." Fortunately, they were challenged and all the terrorists were killed in a gunfight. Pakistan is preparing to put missiles with nuclear warheads on ships and submarines which makes them extremely dangerous if hijacked by militants. If attacked India will be forced to use its own nuclear weapons on Pakistan and, given the enormous populations of these two countries, casualties will be in tens of millions. Meanwhile, the Islamic State has changed the nature of warfare, wrote K Taneja and P Das, by using "weaponized drones, do-it-yourself armoured vehicles". "In January, Russia's main airbase in Syria's Latakia region came under attack by crude drones, allegedly by Shiite militias who had taken a leaf out of IS' operational book. These drones were able to penetrate billions of dollars worth of radars and drop crude bombs on the facility, damaging tens of Russian aircraft." Highly expensive jet planes are useless against drones but the Brazilian Embraer A-29 Super Tucano, a light propeller plane is cheap and highly efficient. Of course, it was the US which started using drones for targeted assassinations of enemy commanders. Drones are cheap and can be used against smaller targets, like a car, causing fewer casualties. But, drones are easy to buy and getting cheaper and it did not take terrorists long to learn how to make them. India will have to devise ways to neutralize drones coming across the border with Pakistan and causing devastation. Russia is to build a nuclear power plant in Turkey. Turkey is sure to use spent fuel to make nuclear weapons, as North Korea has done. Saudi Arabia is also planning to build nuclear reactors with US help. "Saudi Arabia does not want to acquire any nuclear bomb, but without a doubt, if Iran developed a nuclear bomb, we will follow suit as soon as possible," said Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman. Pakistan's military is behind the disappearance of journalists who dare to criticise it, wrote K Nazish, who has also been threatened. Pakistan's intelligence service functions independent of any civilian oversight and protects terrorists to use against India and Afghanistan, which makes it a rogue institution. With nuclear weapons.
