Do what Gandhi did to British: Reject Pakistan peacefully.

In yet another display of sickening behaviour, a Pakistan Border Action Team (BAT) chose to kill two Indian soldiers and mutilate their bodies in the Krishna Ghati sector of Jammu and Kashmir on Monday," wrote and editorial in the Mint on 5 May. "This newspaper has repeatedly argued that the Pakistan problem cannot be solved by shunning the hard force option." That is the worst joke on our brave soldiers who will die, while politicians take credit and journalists fill pages with their erudition. "Building a strong 'deterrence by punishment' posture in the medium term will require the Indian ruling class to learn one important lesson; Pakistan cannot be made to enter into peaceful relation with India by talks alone." After 70 years of attacks why do these people not understand that Pakistan will never have peaceful relations with India? How will India dare to retaliate once China builds the economic corridor through Pakistan Occupied Kashmir? What happens if a Chinese is killed? A UN Security Council resolution has supported the economic corridor making us legless. In 2016, 64 soldiers were killed at the Line of Control, the highest in 6 years. Only 31 terrorists were killed the same year. Terrorists do not cross the border by air so the obvious solution is to build a wall or an electrified fence and lay landmines, so that terrorists cannot cross over, and cut off all relations. So brazen is Pakistan that it complained to the UN about our plan to build a wall. Its best friend China warned India not to build a wall, while sealing its own border with Pakistan to stop terrorists getting into China. So, did we tell China and Pakistan to shove off? Off course, not. In abject surrender the government denied that it had any intention of building a wall. Not just that. Pakistan wants India to pay compensation for not playing cricket with Pakistan and summoned the Indian High Commissioner for not issuing visas to Pakistanis. There are internal attacks too. Last month 25 police personnel were killed by Maoists known as Naxals, after Naxalbari, a village in West Bengal, where the movement started 50 years ago. In March another 12 policemen were killed. Cannon fodder. Attacks against the police have been going on in the same area for years. Why? Because Naxals have some amount of support from local people, partly out of fear, but also because of genuine grievances against the government. It is shameful that 70 years after independence tribal people feel a disconnect with the nation. All it needs is for someone to sit down and ask them what they want and discuss on how best to achieve it. Instead more police will be sent there. So, fight our citizens with guns, while holding 'constructive dialogue' with Pakistan. Concern for citizens and peacefully reject Pakistan: That is what Gandhi did with the British. Can't get higher than that.
