Gaddafi has been buried and the new government promises a moderate Islamic state. Companies from Europe and the US will be queuing up to loot Libyan oil. This has been an enormous victory for Messrs Cameron and Sarkozy who will surely strut their mojo. UK and France secured a UN Security Council resolution to protect civilians, converted it to an outright declaration of war against Gaddafi's family and tribe and actively collaborated in his murder by bombing his convoy. They bombed his private residence, murdered a grandson, who was a minor, and killed hundreds of his tribe not in honorable battle but in cowardly sneak bombing from the air. NATO flew 26000 sorties of mass killing and did not lose a single soldier. Gaddafi was captured by the Misrata fighters, tortured and killed in cold blood. Finally, his body was exhibited to the public clad in an under pant whereas muslim custom dictates burial at the earliest. No doubt revenge killings are taking place all over Libya. Countries of the middle east and Africa are extremely tribal and Gaddafi's people will always remember the way he was humiliated and his body desecrated. Once dust settles disagreements are bound to arise over distribution of oil money. People of Benghazi and Misrata will want to keep the major share as payment for suffering the most and will be contested by tribes from the west and south. How long before we see a situation like Iraq? Tunisia has voted for an Islamist party. The Muslim Brotherhood originated in Egypt. The west hopes that Syria will be next. What if it is Saudi Arabia? UK tabloids call Gaddafi a " mad dog ". Will Cameron be a son of a b....
