" Fascism " comes from the Italian word " Fascismo " ( 1915-20 ) which means rule by a group or party which is intolerant of any criticism and ruthlessly eliminates any opposition. Benito Mussolini started his fascist party in 1914 and members called themselves fascisti or fascists. Mafia likewise was established in Sicily between 1870 and 75 as a secret society to oppose the establishment. " Mafia " means courage or honor. A succession of prime ministers in Italy have been criminals. Bettino Craxi was convicted but managed to evade prison by fleeing to Tunisia where he died. Giulio Andreotti has been accused of many crimes including connection with the Mafia as well as the P2 Masonic Lodge but has managed to remain free. Berlusconi is still in power in spite of numerous charges of crime including connection to the Mafia, false accounting and bribery of public officials. He has used his wealth and his control of the media in Italy to become prime minister which then allowed him to change laws regarding statutes of limitations so as to escape justice. Anyone growing up in Italy would naturally be inclined to crime and fascist tendencies. A group of ministers has decided not to renew licenses of TV news channels if found guilty of 5 " violations " of conduct. These violations will be decided by criminal politicians and their thieving, parasitic civil servants. This is clearly a reaction to the coverage of public support of Anna Hazare's fast against corruption. The similarity between our government and the Italian one is obvious. A crime mafia and a fascist tendency to silence any criticism. The state is the enemy of the people.
