Commenting on Europe's insistence that the next IMF chief must be a European our most revered Prime Minister said," Those who exercise power, do not want to give up power easily. The struggle for a better balanced and more equitable world order, including the management of global institutions like the IMF, World Bank, (UN) Security Council is going to be a long haul I am afraid." ( Hindustan Times, May 30 ). Such perspicacity. At least the Europeans are looking at the interest of their countries but in India filthy politicians cling on forever for personal gain and to pass on political control to their criminal children to ensure that citizens are enslaved for ever. You, are assured of completing two terms as Prime Minister but are you willing to go away even though you will be at least 80 years old? Word is that you are angling for the post of President or to be seconded to a prestigious international posting. The country has been divided into regions controlled by families just as in Italy where various mafia families have their own territories. Elections are merely turf wars where boundaries are readjusted. Governors, Rajya Sabha, even sports bodies, every institution is corrupted by criminal politicians or thieving parasitic civil servants. There is no respite or escape for us who suffer the consequences. Nothing happens to them. We see young people dying with heart attacks, strokes, cancer and other serious illnesses which abound in India but politicians and civil servants seem immortal. It seems that even Yam Raj is afraid of these scum. Power is the ultimate intoxication. You, sir, are a prime example of that.
