Amit Shah, who resigned from his post as a minister in the BJP government in Gujarat, was arrested yesterday for the killing of one Sohrabuddin by the police in an allegedly fake encounter. Apart from the fact that he is Hindu while the dead man was from the so called ' Minority ' community it is difficult to understand why the Congress is so keen to go after him. When Sukhram is free, Sajjan Kumar is enjoying life, Manu Sharma got parole to attend nightclubs and Andersen was escorted out of the country as a VIP why is the Congress so keen on the death of one man. This is the same Congress that goes to Pakistan ' on bended knees ' and is sent back with a sandal across the face just 18 months after the Mumbai massacre. The truth is in the Congress admission that now they will go for Narendra Modi, the Chief Minister of Gujarat. As the most successful syndicate in the world the Congress hates Modi because he is relatively honest and has engineered a remarkable economic growth in Gujarat while next door Maharashtra is bankrupt and farmers keep committing suicide and the central government is seen to be protecting thieves and dross. But why is the BJP not defending one of its own more vigorously? It is because the states controlled by the BJP are equally corrupt and Modi is proving to be an embarrassment. When Gen Khanduri demanded strict honesty in Uttarakhand property dealers, contractors and civil servants revolted so BJP asked him to step down. Modi, on the other hand, has a very strong base in Gujarat and cannot be shifted easily. All politicians in the world are corrupt but have some sharam and izzat. Not the ones in India.
