The G20 summit is to be held on 9 and 10 September in New Delhi, when heads of governments of 20 of the largest economies of the world, plus 9 invited leaders, will gather for banquets and blather at the cost of great inconvenience for the citizens of Delhi and suffering for daily-wage workers, like delivery men, who will not be allowed to ply their trade. To show how worthless the citizens of Delhi are, and how important the VVIPs, Delhi will be shut down from midnight of 7-8 September to midnight of 10-11 September. Schools and offices will be closed, traffic will be restricted, buses will not operate, trains and air services will be cancelled and food delivery will not be allowed. India Today. Since doctors and nurses will not be able to get to hospitals we can expect some patients, who could be saved, to pop off. Not to worry. No one will know. Just as no one in India knows how many millions of our fellow citizens died of Covid. The World Health Organization politely estimates at 4.7 million, 10 times what our VVIPs will allow. BBC. VVIPs are the highest form of living beings, many times higher than mere VIPs "who are given better treatment than ordinary people because they are famous, influential or important." Collins Dictionary. "Under the Indian Presidency, the G20 in 2023 will focus on the theme, 'One Earth, One Family, One Future'. The theme affirms the value of human, animal, plant, and microorganisms and their interconnectedness on planet earth and in the wider universe." India Times. Except for the people of Delhi. Whose value is clearly lower than that of microorganisms. Hilarious. Chinese President Xi Jinping and Russian President Vladimir Putin will not attend, but President Joe Biden of the US will. Reuters. Surprisingly, Prime Minister of Canada Justin Trudeau will attend despite the gross insult dished out to him by Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi when he sent a junior minister for agriculture to receive him at Delhi airport during a week-long visit in 2018. NDTV. Every effort was made to insult Trudeau and his family during the visit. On the other hand, South African and Indian officials denied claims made in an article in The Daily Maverick, that Modi refused to get off his plane because a minister had come to receive him at Pretoria during the BRICS summit last month. "It was reported that South African deputy president Paul Mashatile then proceeded to receive Modi, leaving an event held for the Chinese President." India Weekly. What about Biden? "First Lady Jill Biden tested positive for Covid-19 Monday (yesterday), the White House announced." CNN. "President Joe Biden, 80, tested negative." But, surely he should not travel as he could be carrying the virus. Indian officials downplayed Xi Jinping's absence saying "it's not always possible for every leader to attend every summit". NDTV. "These things do not reflect anything about the host country." Well, if it doesn't matter why disrupt our lives? Sorry, forgot. It's for VVIPs. Not foreign. The Make in India variety.
