Lies are canceling each other.

A few days back Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan claimed that orders to kill Jamal Khashoggi came from the "highest levels" of Saudi government. Journalist Jamal Khashoggi disappeared after entering the Saudi consulate in Istanbul on 2 October to get permission to marry his Trukish fiance Hatice Cengiz. According to Erdogan a hit squad consisting of 15 men came from Saudi Arabia to kill Khashoggi after destroying the hard discs of the cameras inside the consulate building. There has been a steady drip of 'news' from the Turkish government without any evidence to back up their claims. At first we were told that Khashoggi was tortured and dismembered while still alive and the Turks have audio tapes of his screams, although we do not know why the Saudis would record the screams and then pass it on to the Turks. A few days back we were told that Khashoggi was not butchered but was strangled as soon as he entered the consulate. "In accordance with plans made in advance, the victim Jamal Khashoggi, was choked to death immediately after entering the Consulate General of Saudi Arabia," a Turkish statement said. If he was killed immediately upon entering the building there was no fight and a person being garroted cannot scream. So the whole story of the audio tape was a lie to publicize the event and embarrass Saudi Arabia. Body parts were apparently found in the house of the Consul General, who had left the country already. The new story is that the body was dismembered after death and transported to the Consul General's house in five suitcases. Human body tends to rot pretty quickly after death so what happened to the body parts? The body was dissolved in acid, said presidential adviser Yasin Aktay. "The reason they dismembered Khashoggi's body was to dissolve his remains more easily," said Aktay. "Now we see that they did not only dismember his body but also vaporised it." Acid is highly corrosive, so what happened to so many gallons of acid? It is clear that Erdogan has been lying throughout to gain some advantage over Saudi Arabia, so who is this fellow? Erdogan has been is power since 2003, first as prime minister, and then as president since 2014. He is used to winning elections by cheating. Built himself a palace with 250 rooms, costing over $615 million. Trees for the garden were imported at a cost of $3,750-10,000 each. Hacked emails tend to show that his son-in-law was smuggling oil from the Islamic State. When Russia joined the war in Syria it bombed oil facilities and trucks transporting oil which enraged Erdogan so much that a Russian bomber was shot down by F16s belonging to Turkey. Russia imposed economic sanctions and Erdogan had to go crawling to Moscow to beg for forgiveness. Khashoggi has disappeared, presumed killed. But, with Erdogan's lies, we may never know how.
