First in Bangalore and then yesterday in Ahmedabad, multiple bombs have killed at least 40 people in two days. Our freeloading press is quick to pour scorn on Narendra Modi, Chief Minister of Gujarat and calls the BJP, a Hindu Nationalist Party as though being a Hindu is a crime deserving of death at the hands of the filthy muslims. There will be much hand wringing and pontificating on how the muslims should be embraced with love and given more money because they have been excluded from the main stream since independence. However, their hatred is not borne out of some recent injustice but is hundreds of years old and part of the religion. A succession of Muslim invaders, Nader Shah, Taimur Lang, Tuglak and others murdered Hindu men, raped women and desecrated our temples only because we are Hindus. The Quran says that ' if you meet a kafir woman try to convert her and if she resists marry her' which means rape. Then it says ' if you meet a kafir man try to convert him and if he refuses kill him'. Everyday we are told that Islam is a religion of peace on the principle that a lie repeated a million times will be believed. Is there one place on earth where there are more than a hundred muslims and there is peace? We Hindus are helpless. Our only hope is the ongoing war between the Judaeo Christian alliance and the Muslims. Will they be able to wipe out billions of these murderers? At some point the Alliance will realise that they cannot win by conventional means and drop nuclear weapons on the holy sites making them radioactive for ever. Only then will the world experience true peace.

Excellent post.
I'm watching the Indian News channel from London (UK), and already there are idiots claiming that these terrorist attacks are sociological and not religious based...what a load of rubbish.
When you take a religion with dangerous beliefs and mix it with ignorant people, you get fanatical muslims. There is no reasoning with these people, no “bridging of gaps”, and there should be no mistaking that their only intent is to cause misery on as many as possible (believing that somehow this will allow them to go to heaven). The attacks were sick (how could anyone target a hospital???), and I have no doubt that there are many muslims who behind closed doors are praising the terrorists. The whole world should view these people as evil and vilify them as we did the Nazis.
For the “moderate” muslims (and I do know many muslims like this), I think it is time for them to look inwards at their own religious groups and societies, and contemplate on how to stop the breeding of such extremists…it is now their responsibility to save their religion from these evil fanatics.
In Britain, parliament are trying to push through tougher terrorism laws, and in India the same should happen but to a more extreme degree (especially since India's next door neighbour, Pakistan, seems to be one of the main suppliers of terrorists).
My heart goes out to all the victims and their families of these attacks

Hi Sir,

Contrary to your claim, media is proclaiming the responsibility of a muslim terrorist gang behind the attack. There IS no sympathy for the devil. In spite of the muslim minority in the country their benefits dont exceed beyond the bureaucratic paperwork.
Truth is that India is blowing the US trumpet of "war on terrorism" and obviously the Indian power politics is using the rhetoric in its own sweet way. Every state government has its own agenda and means of fighting this terror threat. With none really aiming at curbing terror. There is no way to know whether these attacks are state sponsored or not. Yet I see no reason as to why they cant be.
As for the glorious Hindu tradition, the Gujarat riots of 2002 portray quite a sad picture. With over 80% of Hindu p[opulation in the country and the widespread illiteracy, Muslims dont have much of a say.
On the other hand, the Secular India has a Political party in centre, BJP and its sister wing RSS of khaki shorts which openly flaunts its religious intolerance. Hipocrisy at its best which many choose to ignore.
Domestic problems are many, but as for the outside influence, the Chinese are backing the Maoists, the ISI and Pakistan the Muslims..for all I know Prabhakarans busy brainwashing some people down south. The north-east has been left to wallow in self pity and China will fulfill any outside influence there, if need be.
I believe if there is hope for the Hindu's or India's helplessness, it lies in redefining the foundations of the Indian state on the basis of the ancient Indian philosophy, albeit in the modern consciousness. The solution cant be reached by following the western model of representative democracy, the very thing the Arabs are trying to fight and so are the cunning Chinese and Russians. Alternatives exist between the iron fist rule and the unsustainable, coalition governments backed representative democracy model.

I understand that this is more than a little late to post a response, but I had certain arguments that I felt needed to be expressed on the subject.

Both of the previous responses to the post have pointed toward the ignorance of the masses of India. This is THE contributing factor to the spread of rabid fanaticism, whether of the Hindu or Muslim variety. It is education that makes it possible for an individual to elevate his social and economic circumstances, develop a positive self image, to counter dogmatic indoctrination with logic and argument, and to determine life as he chooses. And I whole-heartedly support any system that works, whatever you choose to name it.

I cannot bring myself to demonise a people based on the fact that there are elements within these factions who seek to exploit desperate masses of people through the promise of salvation in the afterlife. No matter what the rhetoric. The way I see it, the choice is simple: if I do not have the necessary minimum to live, not just survive, but live in a manner that I am allowed to fulfill my potential, then I live a dissatisfied life. This includes almost everyone, I suppose. But anyone will agree that there are degrees. And these degree of dissatisfaction that a person suffers depends on a variety of factors, some internal and some external, and some or the other factor remains effective right from birth, to death. Examples of such external factors are sex, your parents' economic status, your position within the family, religion, your family's social stature, etc. Internal factors are primarily the choices people make, and our reasons for making them. I believe that every individual is unique, and earth will most closely resemble heaven when EVERY PERSON is allowed to make those choice, allowances made only for the impossible and to maintain social comity.

The reason for the broad discourse: if my situation in this life is such that I am suffering an extreme degree of dissatisfaction, and others are flaunting their wealth and good fortune in my face, I become desperate to search for a reason, a justification. To an illiterate, uneducated, poor person with terrible self-esteem (this is the BIGGEST problem with people) someone spewing hate and pointing fingers appears like a messiah. After all, reason only exists on a full stomach and a full night's rest. (Just see how irritable you get after a long day, right before dinner).

[For the record, I am pagan by choice - I avoid all institutionalised forms of religion.]
