Social media posts asked why the chairperson of the National Commission for Women (NCW) Rekha Sharma could not hold her own umbrella, to which TMC MP Majua Moitra commented, "She's too busy holding up her boss's pajamas." TOI. To that, "The Delhi Police booked Trinamool Congress (TMC) MP Mahua Moitra...over a 'derogatory' social media post against NCW Chief Rekha Sharma." Mint. Since Ms Sharma is the chief of the NCW she has no boss and Ms Moitra did not name anyone, so why is the Delhi Police wasting its time. Ms Sharma is a member of the Bharatiya Janata Party, the BJP. wikipedia. Yesterday, "TMC's Krishnanagar MP Mahua Moitra accused Union Minister Shantanu Thakur of issuing 'passes' to 'smugglers' active on the India Bangladesh border." "It was allegedly issued to Jiarul Gazi of Hakimpur, North 24 Parganas. Gazi carried 3 kg beef with the 'pass', Moitra claimed." TOI. If true, it would be very strange for a BJP minister to be issuing "beef" passes considering that about 72 people have been lynched to death by cow vigilantes since the BJP came to power in 2014 (wikipedia). Meanwhile, "Bihar has witnessed its 10th bridge collapse in just over two weeks," "The latest incident occurred in Saran, where two other bridge collapses had been reported in the last 24 hours." TOI. On 28 June, "A roof at Delhi airport has collapsed after heavy rain, killing one person and injuring eight others. Videos online show huge pillars supporting the roof smashing into cars parked along the airport's Terminal 1." The terminal "had undergone a massive renovation at the cost of billions of rupees and had been inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in March - a month before the recent election began." BBC. On 22 June, "Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the new campus of Nalanda University this week." "In 2016, after the Modi government undermined Nalanda's autonomy, former Singapore Foreign Minister George Yeo resigned as its chancellor. Soon after, international faculty began leaving or were kicked out." "Unsurprisingly, a majority of faculty profiles on the university's website are opaque. Very little is known about their degrees, publications, awards and recognitions." The Wire. The 'cereal gap' refers to the difference between net availability and household consumption. "Until 2008 or so, there was little difference between net availability and household consumption," wrote Prof jean Dreze and Christian Oldiges. Using data from the latest consumption survey of the National Sample Survey Office (NSSO) they calculate that the cereal gap was around 100 million tonnes in 2022-23 and will probably be the same again this year. So, what happened to the missing 100 million tonnes of cereal? Was it exported and, if so, where is the cash? Everything seems to be collapsing. The Prime Minister of Britain may have had nothing to hide from the President of the US (winstonchurchill .org), but we Indians don't want to know. Someone please hold up the pajamas.
