Hype and spin are part of politics but how has Barak Obama managed to con the whole world into thinking that he is some kind of God's gift to the world. One woman wrote yesterday of how she cried when he was elected. Another one today has called him the big ' O ' and superman. It was this kind of sentimental tosh that got him elected in the first place. So what are the facts. 1. He is not black, not only because his mother was white, but because he was brought up by white grandparents in beautiful Hawaii, went to a good school and later to Harvard and not by a single parent in a ghetto exposed to drugs and violence since birth. Has he ever been subjected to the indignity of stop and search as blacks in New York have to suffer everyday? 2. He is African and American and not African-American because he does not come from slaves in Confederate states. His mother was white and his father a Kenyan muslim which was hailed as a symbol of tolerance to muslims but which he is now trying to hide by not going to the Golden Temple so as not to cover his head with a handkerchief. 3. His relatives in Kenya and Indonesia were cited as proof of his cosmopolitan background as though having relatives that he has no contact with makes him an expert on international affairs. He has been insulted by the Chinese, the Pakis have been running rings round him and Latin America is just as hostile to the US as before. In the midterm elections on Tuesday he will become not just a lame duck but a dead duck and he does not have the guts of Bill Clinton to face down a Newt Gingrich. Perhaps we should be cultivating Sarah Palin instead of a gasbag.

Seems that Maharashtra Chief Minister, Ashok Chavan has offered to resign over the Colaba housing scam in which 3 of his relatives including his dead mother in law were given flats at one tenth their market value and Mr. Chavan was the person who issued clearances for the 31 storey building in an earlier avatar. ' I have offered to resign and I leave it to the Congress president,' he said. Such a hero! Offering to fall on a sword for the sake of the party! Some advice for him. Do not offer. Resign and go. If you are a man and have the slightest bit of sharam or izzat. By ' offering to resign ' he is clearly hoping and praying that Ms. Gandhi will refuse to accept it and he will be able to carry on in his post. Meanwhile ten sports persons have joined together to form a ' Clean Sports India ' movement. They want sports persons to control the various sports bodies in India instead of filthy criminal politicians as at present. They think that after the disgusting crime infested Commonwealth Games it may be the right time to wrest sports away from criminal politicians and thieving civil servants. It is not going to be easy because heading a sports body means access to government money, free travel abroad, bullying young women for sexual favors and freebies from sponsors. For the last few years the bastards have been smarting at being excluded from the IPL bonanza. This year they have managed to change the board by bringing various charges against all the previous officials. Now Australia has decided to have its own T20 competition like the IPL and is inviting Indian sponsors. The IPL will die and Bash Bash T20 will take over. Thieves and destroyers.

Mr. Mukesh Ambani, the richest man in India, is building a 27 storey house for his wife in a posh area of Mumbai reputed to be costing him some Rs. 50 billion. It is going to have everything from car park to swimming pool to helipad and will be the most expensive home in the world for a family of 6 people. My friends are of the view that this is vulgar ostentation unsuitable for a poor country like India where millions of people live below the poverty line. Some are quite vehement that he should have spent his money on helping the poor. I do not resent Mr. Ambani his wealth. As long as this money is earned through honest business then he should have the freedom to do whatever he pleases. At least he is spending his money inside the country instead of buying a luxury villa abroad. Ms Aishwarya Rai is so beautiful that people are ready to pay over Rs. 10 million just for her to show up and smile for a few minutes. Good luck to her. However I strongly resent criminal politicians and thieving civil servants lording it over us with our tax money. I resent it when the police hold my car up to let some low class trash pass by at full speed. I resent it when these filthy scoundrels spend our money to buy luxury planes. I resent it when the freeloading press call them VVIPs in craven servility. Now we have news of how navy land has been used to build a 31 storey building where politicians, civil servants and ex chiefs of armed forces have been given apartments at one tenth the fair value. The Chief Minister's dead mother in law is also on the list. This is when I understand why people join the Naxals and want to blow these bastards away.

Ms Arundhati Roy has opined that Kashmir was never a part of India and so should be allowed independence. In that case Texas was a part of Mexico, China was a part of Mongolia, Guantanamo and Guam were never part of the US, there has never been a state or country called Palestine, Kuwait was a part of Iraq, Gibraltar and the Falklands were never a part of Great Britain, Asir region was a part of Yemen, the list goes on. Ms Roy may have won a literary award but that does not make her an expert on politics or human rights. She is partly right in saying that the state is an enemy of the people but destroying it by supporting Naxals is hardly going to improve the living conditions of poor people for whom her heart bleeds. Perhaps she should pay a visit to Cambodia and learn about the Khmer Rouge and Brother no. 1 before talking. Kashmir can never be independent, not because of what India wants, but because Pakistan will never give up the territory it is occupying. Indeed if Indian troops were to move out Paki troops will move straight in and annexe the whole valley. India will then be in even greater danger than it is now because Pakis will be that much closer to the heart of the country. It is sad that she has to resort to such treacherous rubbish to get into the limelight once more. She claims that as a writer she has freedom of speech. So she has but does not and never will have the right to be stupid. She should realise that her stupidity puts our right to life in jeopardy. The freeloading press should stop reporting the rubbish she spouts. That way she can have her freedom to speak rubbish without endangering the rest of us.

Time was when army officers were seen as honorable and judges were seen as honest. No longer. A few weeks back the Supreme Court was told that 8 of the 16 former Chief Justices were corrupt. That is a staggering 50% of the top judicial officials in the country. Today we read a story of how a prime plot of land in Colaba, Mumbai which belonged to the army was handed over to a developer to build a multi storey apartment block. Crucial documents proving the land belonged to the army have gone missing from army offices in Mumbai and Pune. Former army chiefs, NC Vij and Deepak Kapur have been given apartments in the building as have several admirals, generals, politicians and top civil servants. Presumably to make a profit, after gifting so many apartments, the developer has increased the height of the building to 100 meters to accommodate 31 storeys when the permitted height is only 30 meters. Army officers get huge pensions, cheap groceries and booze at army canteens and free top quality healthcare for life, something that we can only dream about and yet their greed is bottomless. Meanwhile Rs. 3.8 billion have been stolen in Andhra Pradesh in the name of fee reimbursement at colleges which do not exist. No doubt criminal politicians and thieving civil servants will be right at the center of the scam. Rajasthan, Karnataka and Maharashtra are allowing criminals to operate illegal mines and thus loot the nations resources. It is a wonder that India still exists when our enemies within are so much more dangerous than enemies outside.

A woman working as a domestic in Delhi developed shortness of breath on walking. Auscultation revealed pure mitral stenosis and she was sent to a nearby expensive hospital which was offering an investigation package including ECHO. She was examined by one doctor and when the word spread at least 10 doctors came to listen to her heart and see the ECHO findings. The reason is the rheumatic heart disease has disappeared in middle and upper classes and doctors training in private institutions have never seen a case. In Haiti a cholera epidemic has already claimed 250 and will probably kill more especially children. The reason is that large numbers of Haitians are still crowded into camps after last year's earthquake. The total area of the Haiti is just 10714 sq. miles and it has a population of 9.8 million most of whom crowd into cities especially Port au Prince, the capital. This population pressure on a small area of land makes it the poorest country in the western hemisphere and susceptible to such diseases. On the other hand Chile has a land area of 292260 sq. miles with a population of just over 15 million. Thus Chile is much richer economically and is better able to support its people as the recent rescue of the 33 trapped miners showed. Bihar, which is holding elections to its Assembly, is the Haiti of India. Its people just go on breeding regardless of the ability to feed, educate or give decent healthcare to their children. Crime is the major industry in Bihar. People with money educate their children in faraway boarding schools to protect them from being kidnapped. To eliminate poverty we must eliminate breeding. Simple.

The gasbag cometh. President Obama is to visit India next month and preparations are well underway. Seems that the entire 547 rooms as well as all the restaurants and dance halls at Taj Mahal Palace Hotel in Mumbai has been reserved for security reasons. 80-90 rooms at the ITC Maratha Hotel near the airport have also been booked for accompanying airline staff. 45 cars including the presidential armor plated Lincoln Continental, weighing in at 3 tons and capable of withstanding a tank shell will be coming with him. This is hubris at its most exorbitant, egotistical and arrogant best. Who is paying for this shameless waste? If it is the US then it is shameful at a time when 9.6% of people are unemployed and an entire class of people called the 99ers have been created. If it is India then it is a criminal waste of public money because this visit is not going to benefit our country in any way whatsoever. The mid term elections in November will see a Republican majority in the House and possibly also the Senate. Any agreement signed by Obama will not be ratified by the Republicans buoyed by their victory. If he could not impose his will on the Congress when the Democrats controlled both chambers he is going to be a useless lame duck now. If he is coming to sell defence equipment and to negotiate a way to protect suppliers of nuclear equipment in case of accidents then we should drive a hard bargain. No arms supply to Pakistan and favorable trade conditions for India. Sadly our lot will be bending and scraping as is their wont. A useless Commonwealth Games followed by a useless state visit presided over by a useless government. Brilliant.

Wayne Rooney has signed a five year deal with Manchester United worth 65 million pounds at 250,000 pounds per week. That is a shocking Rs. 20 million a week. Is he really worth that much money? It is not that he is incredibly ugly, which he is, but that he is not that good a player as he showed during the World Cup. Some may trot out the excuse that he was under mental pressure for having dropped his pants with a couple of whores but he did not perform that well in Germany either. He is talented, strong, has good stamina and on his day can score with either foot but he is not as good as Messi, Ronaldo or Fabregas and will never be within touching distance of what Maradonna and Pele used to be. Besides football players are very prone to severe injuries which can put them out for entire seasons. The reason is that a player stretches out his leg to gather the ball and if someone falls on the outstretched leg it causes fractures or severe ligament damage to the knee which can take months to heal. Also a player can easily break a bone due to a malicious tackle as happened to Eduardo at Arsenal. Besides once a man has been unfaithful to his wife he is likely to do so again. So much money, God like adulation from fans, travelling far away from home to play matches and excessive amounts of alcohol may loosen inhibitions again. But why are United taking such a risk when they already have so much debt? The Glazers who own the club are American business men and certainly no fools and neither is the manager, Sir Alex Ferguson. Have they decided to sell Rooney and are playing games to increase his price tag? Time will tell.

Wow! Within days of the end of the money looting Commonwealth Games the CBI has raided offices and collected documents of its first suspect. Who is the lucky person? Not anyone from the Congress government in Delhi or at the center. Nor anyone from the various dens of thieves called MCD, NDMC, PWD, CPWD or the Organising Committee. No, the honor of being the first suspect goes to Sudhanshu Mittal, a BJP leader. Attack, after all, is the best form of defence and who knows that better than the Congress. Meanwhile the CBI has been unable to make any progress in one year against the Congress comrade Mr. Raja, the Telecom minister in the 2G scam. While the CBI is unable to make out any case against officials at the Department of Telecom, DOT another investigator CAG has found that DOT officials were complicit in leaking details of policy to certain companies resulting in a loss of Rs. 1 trillion to the state. This strategic one year delay by the CBI has allowed officials to continue working at the DOT and to obstruct any form of enquiry or investigation. Whether key evidence has been destroyed already we do not know but it is quite usual for files to go missing in India. When pressed by the Supreme Court CBI officials asked for six more months to investigate in India and overseas. It is so wonderful how often CBI finds evidence abroad. We remember how they had to visit so many tourist spots overseas while chasing big Q without catching sight of him. They have done St. Kitts. May I suggest Monaco or Martinique. Dubai, if wives have run out of perfumes. They should beware. If the cover up is too obvious the capo will not be pleased.

The Chancellor of the Exchequer of the UK, George Osborne presented a list of cuts to government expenses to the House of Commons. The total cuts will be $ 130 billion over four years and lead to a loss of 490000 jobs in the public sector. European economies in general are cutting government expenditure in an effort to lower fiscal deficits. Americans are unhappy with such severe cuts at a time when the global economic recovery still looks shaky. Some economists think that cuts at a time of rising unemployment, depressed housing sector, low private sector investment and a reluctance by banks to provide credits will lead to a double dip recession in the west which could affect the world. Central banks in western countries are keeping lending rates at record low levels leading to a flood of liquidity into developing economies leading to strengthening of their currencies. Countries such as Brazil have imposed taxes on the flow of foreign money in an effort to control the flow. Others like China directly buy foreign currencies from markets to keep their currencies low. China is deliberately restricting the export of rare earths, which are used in the manufacture of electronics, in an effort to force western companies to set up manufacturing factories in China and share their expertise with local companies. Time was when western countries could subsidise their farmers and force poor countries to open their markets while putting up barriers against imports. They called it globalisation. No longer. Poorer countries are playing the same game. If the rich will not export wealth they will end up importing poverty. Justice.

A lot has been written about the terminal three, called T3, at Delhi airport. The government is very proud of the brand new shining building with lots of glass and chrome. As with anything the Indian government does it has added extra taxes to air tickets for passengers. Wonder what happens to all the trillions of rupees in taxes that we pay, apart from paying the salaries of useless, thieving parasitic civil servants and the equally useless, criminal, parasitic politicians? Anyway, went to receive some family members flying in from Toronto on Air India. When this flight goes to Toronto it arrives there at a convenient six in the evening. Enough time to get home safely. However when the flight returns to Delhi it arrives at 1.55 in the morning which, in a dangerous city like Delhi, is most inconvenient. Who the hell cares for Indians anyway? Not Air India and not the Airport Authority either because there is no comfortable air conditioned waiting area for people who have come to receive their family members. Instead you have to stand outside. There is a roof overhead but otherwise the area is completely open. No chairs to sit on, no air conditioning, no cafe serving snacks, not even fans. One can imagine what people will have to suffer in the summer. Imagine having to stand for a couple of hours in 40 degrees temperature with no fans. Last night was not so warm but mosquitoes were getting full meals. With Dengue and Chikungunya epidemics going on it could be curtains for some. Whatever is built in India, however grand it may be the people will still be treated as dirt.

Seems that President Obama will be unable to visit the Golden Temple in Amritsar because there is no consensus on what he should cover his head with. Obama will not use a skull cap acceptable to temple authorities because that will make him look like a Muslim and would be political suicide especially with the rise of the Tea Party lunatics in the Republican Party. The temple authorities will not accept a baseball cap or army cap or variations thereof because that will not be respectful. The temple belongs to the Sikh faith and every visitor, who does not wear the traditional turban worn by Sikhs, has to cover his head as a mark of respect for the faith. Hindus do not wear turbans and normally cut their hair short and, since large numbers of Hindus visit the shrine, have learnt to improvise a temporary hat. Take a gent's handkerchief, knot the four corners and cover your head with it. Thousands of Hindus have been doing this for years. The idea is to respect the shrine and, to be fair to Sikhs, they recognise it as a mark of respect. Alternatively Obama could ask his hosts to provide him with a ready made turban as worn at north Indian weddings. These are showy and go on as any hat and would provide a fantastic photo op. Obama was elected because he represented the new US. Born of a white american mother and a black Kenyan father, a combination of Christian and Muslim with half siblings in Indonesia he seemed to represent the great american melting pot. Unfortunately his fear of the Republicans and a burning desire for a second term made him try to please everyone. He has ended up pleasing no one and may help an airhead like Palin to win next time around.

Blame game time. The rats are beginning to fall out. Delhi Chief Minister, Ms Sheila Dikshit says that the Organising Committee, OC is responsible for all the corruption. " The real corruption seems to be with regard to the money given as loans ( to the OC )," said she. Mr. Kalmadi's reply was,'..... she must indulge in self reflection on corruption in her own departments. We ( OC ) don't want to scapegoats any more.' Reviled by the whole country, booed by spectators, loathsome though he may be Kalmadi is right on this one. Several governments such as the PWD, CPWD, DDA and MCD were involved in building the infrastructure where the major chunk of money was spent. The OC had a budget of some Rs. 16 billion wile the Delhi government spent Rs. 160 billion which is ten times as much. The OC had absolutely nothing to do with the building and collapse of the footbridge at Nehru stadium. Similarly the OC was not responsible for a contractor being paid Rs. 2 billion twice for same work at Talkatora stadium. The nation spends a fortune every year on electing and then paying for the extravagance of politicians whose job it is to safeguard public finances by preventing thieves from looting. If Ms Dikshit claims that she has no responsibility then she should not be sitting in her chair any longer. If she denies that it was her duty to oversee what all the various government agencies were doing then why are we spending vast sums of money for her uselessness. Surely she knows that all civil servants are thieves and with a budget that big would be skimming right off the top. She should be careful not to let the stink reach the capo. Then she will really be in trouble.

Seems that the Reserve Bank of India, RBI is in bit of bother. Foreign Institutional Investors, FIIs have poured over Rs. 1 trillion into our stock market and maybe poised to put in more. This is apparently due to the loose monetary policy in the US and Europe where interest rates are at historically low levels allowing cheap money to flood into emerging markets where returns are better. The Sensex is above 21000 and Indian investors are very happy. Problem is that the infusion of so much dollars is making the rupee stronger which, in turn, harms exports and impacts the profit margins of the IT sector when they bring money back to India. The RBI is caught between a rock and a very hard place. If they buy dollars from the market to push the rupee down they will inject more liquidity into the system pushing up inflation. To control inflation they will then have to increase interest rates which will increase company costs and may decrease consumer consumption. Increased interest rates may attract more dollars to take advantage of the arbitrage opportunities which will again put upward pressure on the rupee. The government does not want interest rates to increase because that will increase its borrowing costs and any slow down in growth rate will adversely affect tax collections which is desperately needed to pay millions of useless, thieving, unproductive civil servants whose salaries were unjustifiably increased by the Sixth Pay Commission as a bribe to win last year's general elections. Seems that no one has clue as to what to do. With world famous economist in charge what do we expect?

The whitewash has started, in fact it started long ago but now the footlicking freeloading press is doing its bidding. The games are being painted as a grand success. Never mind the billions stolen, never mind the loss of face, never mind the near empty stadiums, never mind the sheer low class of the scum in charge the spin has started. If you are an Indian then you must show support, it is patriotism. The trouble is the scum are so low class that it is difficult to identify with them. One woman got her 7 year old son accreditation as an official because her husband is out of town and she could not leave him alone. It would cost money to employ a nanny. The Lt Governor ( is he some British fossil still hanging around?) is most upset that the Chief Minister is taking all the credit for cleaning toilets when it was he who cleaned them. Consider the contrast with the treatment being meted out to Lalit Modi. He organised the T20 Cricket Premier League from scratch, made it hugely successful all over the world and made it immensely profitable. His sin was that he excluded criminal politicians and thieving civil servants from taking their cut so they were after him from the beginning. It started with little things. The cheerleaders were scantily clad. This from bandits and rapists. Then security was denied because of the inconsequential general elections. So Modi took the IPL to South Africa and made it a success. So now all the investigating agencies are competing to file cases against him. But then Modi is not Congress. The same agencies do not know how to investigate the telephone licensing scam. Congress- the most efficient syndicate in history.

Came to Delhi by the overnight train which normally ends at Nizamuddin station but instead dumped me at 5.30 in the morning at New Delhi station. Presumably it was diverted because the flyover from the games village to Nehru stadium arches over the Nizamuddin station and the scum running the games did not want foreigners to see riffraff like me. Troubles did not end there. The route home was blocked because the marathon was being held in the middle of the city so the scum just decided to shut down the whole city. Ended up paying Rs. 250 instead of Rs. 150 to get home. Today is the first day of Durga Puja after nine days of Navaratri, probably the holiest time of the year for us Hindus so the Congress deliberately held the games during this period. Driving restrictions on roads means that it would be nigh impossible for people to visit various Puja pandals. We have been instructed not to hold our usual functions, not to feed our members as we do every year and severe restrictions have been placed on parking cars to make it difficult for people to attend. Old people, children and the sick cannot possibly walk long distances so the idea is to restrict Hindus from offering prayers. The driving restrictions will be in force till monday which is when all foreign athletes will be expected to leave the city. The Pujas end on sunday so we Hindus will have to face the maximum inconvenience this year. Is it now the policy of the Congress to destroy Hinduism? Would they have dared to place such restrictions on so called Minorities? Larceny, incompetence, arrogance, stupidity, the games have shown the true colors of the Congress. A pox on their house.

Abhijit Ghosh, retired general manager at the Central Bank of India, filed a complaint against the chairperson and managing director of the bank, H. A. Daruwala with the Central Vigilance Commission. His complaint said that Ms Daruwala forced people seeking loans to pay big donations to her former school, used the travel agent employing her sister and asked tender seekers to publish diaries and calenders. Instead of taking action against her the bank embarked on a campaign of harassment against Mr. Ghosh. They spent Rs. 6.924 million on lawyers fees and gave Congress member and lawyer, Abhishek Manu Singhvi Rs. 4.85 million to go after him. Mr. Ghosh has given up and withdrawn all cases against the bank and Ms Daruwala. Politicians, lawyers and criminals, the controllers of India. To prove this point 35% of candidates for the forthcoming elections in Bihar have criminal cases pending against them. Of 446 candidates 299 have not submitted details of their Permanent Account Number which is essential for filing tax returns. Any ordinary person cannot buy a car or open an account at a bank without such a number. This shows that candidates are keen to hide the source of their wealth. Serious charges including murder, attempted murder, kidnap, extortion, use of dangerous weapons and robbery are pending against 97 candidates and 3 candidates have been charged with rape. Candidates are chosen by each political party, a process called ' giving tickets.' Thus every party has deliberately chosen criminals because these have the black money and can intimidate voters and opponents to win. So every political party in India is a criminal gang. Scum.
Tuesday, October 12, 2010
Two examples prove that the criminal politicians and thieving civil servants of India are the worst scum in the world. In a case of bribery against an Income Tax officer, Mohanlal Sharma, justices at the Supreme Court
commented that ' It is very unfortunate that there is no control over corruption in the country. There is rampant corruption particularly in the departments of income tax, sales tax and excise. Nothing moves without money.' The justices also advised that corruption should be made legal so that people knew exactly how much they had to pay to get work done. The solution is simple. The courts should refuse time wasting by corrupt lawyers and insist on finishing a case in a fixed time span. The Supreme Court should uphold death penalty sentences of murderers with powerful connections instead of reducing them to life imprisonment knowing full well that they will be released on parole by politicians. Sarcasm is no replacement for justice. In Karnataka the politicians are showing us their claim to be worse scum than civil servants. Apparently some goons came and kidnapped around 11 BJP MLAs from a hotel, shoved them into cars and flew them to Chennai. Each criminal MLA goes around with a retinue of armed guards so how were they overpowered so easily and why did no one resist? The Speaker of the House disqualified some MLAs while the governor wants to introduce President's Rule so that he can rule the state by himself. Ex politicians or civil servants are chosen as governors as a reward for helping the political gang in power. We the people have no idea which scoundrel is backing whom. Incredible India.

In an essay titled ' Manners Make the Middle Class ' in the Times of India today Mr. Dipankar Gupta, a former professor, says that it was good manners of the middle classes which has led Europe to its affluence today. He cites a book, ' The Essential Handbook of Victorian Etiquette ' written by Prof Thomas E. Hill which advises people not to show off their wealth in front of poor people, not to indulge in name dropping and not to boast about your own country while visiting abroad. Mr. Gupta goes on to say that it was good manners that led to increased social services which helped to lift the poor out of poverty and wants Indians to develop good manners. Mr. Gupta seems to have forgotten that every country in western Europe including tiny Portugal had colonies in Africa, Asia and America. Their manners were restricted to their own citizens while for the rest of the world they were ruthless, blood sucking looters. The ferocity of the two World Wars cannot be matched by any other people. Even their present social support systems were based on looting the third world, especially Africa, where they bought up cheap raw materials and sold back very expensive finished products. They forced the inequitous GATT system on the world and the IMF regularly advised poor countries to open their economies deepening their poverty. Where are the Somalis, the drug gangs or the killers in Congo getting their arms? From the factories of the so called good manners countries. The world has woken up to their games. The IMF is sidelined and the WTO is locked. All European countries are having to reduce social services. Soon they will have to reduce manners too.

What is it about Pakistan that has immobilised thinking in Washington? For decades Pakistan has been actively harming the US while pretending to be its friend and Washington has swallowed the horse dung without any analysis or reproach. The 9/11 attacks were planned by the ISI and the financing was routed through Pakistan. A report in the Wall Street Journal reported that the ISI is urging mid level Taliban to fight US soldiers while the country is surviving on US aid. Faisal Shahzad, the Times Square bomber has just been sent to jail for life. Last week the US was advising it citizens to avoid crowded palces in France, Germany and Britain because they suspected an imminent Mumbai style attack. Drone strikes killed 2 British citizens and 5 Germans of Pakistani origin training as terrorists in North Waziristan. Following the death of 3 Paki soldiers in a hot pursuit incident Pakistan closed a supply route to Afghanistan causing a build up of trucks. At least 40 trucks have been blown up by militants. The US had to apologise humbly to get Pakistan to reopen the border crossing. Half of Pakistan would starve without US aid and Paki army would not be able to kill Indians without US supplied planes and arms. If the US stopped all aid to Pakistan would China and the Gulf states be able to fill the void? Impossible. In fact China is taking advantage of the survival of Pakistan by giving nuclear weapons and building nuclear power plants to increase its danger to India and the west. The only way is to stop all aid, including food aid, cancel all diplomatic contact with Pakistan and bottle its citizens inside its borders. Caged animals cannot bite.

Within the last one month China, the nation of uncivilised barbarians, has been snarling at the rest of the world. There was the incident of the fishing vessel which deliberately rammed two Japanese coast guard vessels causing damage. When he was arrested for his crime China responded as it knows how, with fury unrestrained by any civilising or diplomatic politeness. First it stopped all high level contacts, stopped rare earths export to Japan as a blackmail strategy and took four Japanese citizens as hostage on the specious charge that they were photographing military installations. Since the cursed country is a military state even public toilets could be termed sensitive because some soldiers were using it at the time. Then Chinese premier Wen Jia Bao was warning first the US and then Europe not to pressure China on artificially keeping its currency, the Yuan weak to increase exports. Then China was barking at the Nobel Committee not to award the Peace Prize to dissident Liu Xiaobo. The Nobel committee went ahead and awarded the prize to Xiaobo anyway. Predictably China reacted as a rabid dog saying that Xiaobo is a criminal according to Chinese law and not fit to receive the prize. What law? China has no law. To show its rage and unable to take revenge on the Nobel committee Xiaobo's wife has been shifted from Beijing to Jinzhou where he is being held. An uncivilised country where children die of melamine poisoning, miners die regularly in preventable accidents and schools collapse in an earthquake while party offices stand intact will behave similarly with other countries. Time that China is hit where it will hurt most, its economy.

The World Bank President, Robert Zoellick thinks that near zero interest rates in developed countries is creating huge liquidity and money is flowing into developing economies creating asset price bubbles and increasing the value of their currencies. He thinks that these countries should take steps to curtail inflow of foreign money. The problem is that rich countries have no clue as to what they should do having never faced such a situation before. For over a century rich countries have been growing by exploiting poor ones. The GATT round of trade talks allowed rich countries to subsidise their farmers and industries while forcing poor countries to open their markets causing devastation especially in Africa. They bought raw materials dirt cheap and sold finished products at exorbitant prices. This enabled European countries to spend lavishly on free healthcare, early retirement, enormous pensions, long maternity leaves and other benefits. No longer. With Asia, especially China, growing at a fast pace commodity prices have jumped denying rich countries cheap raw materials. Having learnt from the GATT rip off developing countries are refusing to be bludgeoned into signing the WTO accord. Cheap imports have decimated manufacturing industries in rich countries. To favor its exports China keeps its currency, the Yuan artificially low by buying US and EU securities. It has $ 2.5 trillion worth of foreign exchange. What happens when its reserves are more than the US GDP? Seems to me that the only way is to devalue the dollar and the Euro against the Yuan. This is what the IMF used to prescribe for poor countries. So will they swallow the bitter pill or will pride stop them until it is too late?

India is red hot. Seems that $ 19.7 billion flooded into our share market this year raising the Sensex to over 20000 and the rupee to 45 to the dollar. Predictions are that India will grow at over 9.5% this year and the Foreign Institutional Investors are loving the growth story pouring money into Indian equities. Increased growth means people in some industries are going to get large pay hikes and bonuses boosting their spending which is showing the rising sales of cars and consumer durables. So high is the demand that there is a waiting list for popular models of cars because ancillary companies are unable to meet the demand for parts. Increased growth also means increased tax collections helping government spending. It cannot get rosier. Yet, the Commonwealth Games are going to cost Rs. 700 billion- 1 trillion which means all the money raised by the auction of 3G licenses has gone down the drain. That money was supposed to bring the fiscal deficit down from 6% to 4.5%. This means that the government has to borrow more putting upward pressure on interest rates. The strong rupee means lower exports but probably helps in keeping inflation lower by reducing imports costs. Inflation continues at around 11%, food inflation at 16% while property inflation maybe anywhere up to 25%. Controlling inflation requires raising interest rates which the government will not allow because it will slow growth rate and decrease tax collections. Of course, I am no economist and therefore do no understand anything about the economy. The good news is that no one else does either.

Past President of Pakistan, Pervez Musharraf, who is skulking in London has admitted that Pakistan trained terrorists to fight against India in Kashmir. Apparently this was to force India into talks. How is he any different from Osama Bin Laden? Bin Laden has never been accused of directly killing or taking part in any terror attack but of financing and master minding Al Qaeda. For this he is being hunted and a reward has been placed on his head. The International Criminal Court has issued an arrest warrant for Omar Bashir of Sudan for his part in the killings in Darfour. Indonesian President, Susilo Bambang Yudhiyono cancelled a state visit to the Netherlands yesterday because he was afraid of being arrested for human rights abuses in his own country. Seems that activists were planning to go to court against him. Yet Musharraf can brazenly admit to facilitating terror attacks in India and not a single voice is raised for his arrest and trial. The reason is that Indian politicians are helping people like Musharraf to train and send terrorists into India. We are constantly told that India must continue to talk to Pakistan. Not only that, we allow Pakis to travel freely throughout the country, have a train service to Lahore and even allow them to make money in our film industry. Either the government is being run from Washington or the criminal politicians personally benefit from terror attacks. Note that there has been no incident between North and South Korea along the hundreds of miles of land border for 60 years because there is a high fence and the border is intensively mined. We open our borders to terrorists. Why?

Indian industrialist, Anand Mahindra, who is an alumnus of Harvard, has gifted $10 million in honor of his mother to the Humanities Center at Harvard University which will henceforth be known as Mahindra Humanities Center. Incidentally Harvard already has endowments of more than $ 30 billion thereby making it the richest university in the world and probably the most renowned because it can afford the best teachers in every subject. When there are so many super rich people of Indian origin why does no one donate to Indian universities? About 7 years back one man in US wanted to donate to one of the IITs that he had studied in but Mr. Murli Manohar Joshi, who was minister of something at that time, insisted that he had to channel the donation through the government. Knowing that criminal politicians and thieving civil servants would steal all the money the donor gave it to an American university. Three years back this Congress led government suddenly decided to open 7 new IITs without buildings, teaching staff or laboratories. In today's news we find that these so called IITs have less than one third the required number of teachers. Who would want to teach at IIT when the government refuses to increase the salaries of teachers while trebling the money paid to useless parasitic politicians. In its wisdom the Supreme Court cancelled the expulsion of failed students because they were reservation students and asked professors to give them extra tuition. Extra work for no money. Is it any wonder that there is no Indian university in a list of the top 150 in the world. When you are the dregs you like everyone to be the same.

The most expensive Commonwealth Games has started with the opening ceremony being held yesterday evening. Everything went off smoothly, which is a relief, but this being a Congress event it could not be perfect even after costing Rs. 700 billion. The coverage by Door Darshan was rubbish as usual. Commercial breaks carried on for 6 minutes at a time forcing a change of channels to Man City vs Newcastle. The mixed English and Hindi commentary is highly stupid and irritating. People who understand only one of the languages will miss half of what is being said. Hindi is completely unsuitable for sports because all the terms are in English anyway. The children painted hands on white sheets with henna from below which, being the Congress election symbol, is using public money for party political propaganda. The brazen indifference to public opinion in the Congress was exemplified by allowing Kalmadi, the most despised man in the country, to give the welcoming speech. The Indian contingent seemed to consist of hundreds of people. Who were all these people and what qualified them to parade with the athletes? With Milkha Singh complaining about not being invited were these the usual parasitic criminal politicians and thieving civil servants? Meanwhile the BJP says that the Congress has set up a copy cat website which directs visitors to its own website. Finally the taxpayer must not be made to pay for the corrupt, incompetent games. Instead Congress fellows, who are billionaires, must be made to pay every penny. Having said all that I wish the games are successful and pass off peacefully.

Tyler Clementi, a student at Rutgers University in New Jersey committed suicide by jumping off New York's George Washington bridge because two fellow students, Molly Wei and 18 year old Dharun Ravi, secretly video taped him having sex with a man and posted it on the internet. Molly Wei and Dharun Ravi have already been charged with invading the privacy of Clementi and may face more serious charges of bias according to the county prosecutor. This makes it a triple tragedy, not least because all three were supposedly good students with bright futures ahead of them. Now one is dead and the other two will be blighted for life. It was very wrong for the two to invade the privacy of this student and humiliate him by posting the incident on the internet. But why did Clementi commit suicide unless he thought he was doing wrong. After all sex pictures of many US celebrities are to be found on the net and they do not commit suicide. Despite the huge propaganda the fact remains that male homosexuality is abnormal. Female homosexuality does not exist because there is not penetration but between two males there is penetration of one person's anus by another. This is abnormal because the anus is not constructed for penetration and mainly because the rectum is full of hundreds of species of bacteria, some of them very virulent. In gram negative septicaemia a patient is killed by the invasion of his blood stream by bacteria from his own gut. This is not about religion, morality or legal rights. It is about anatomy. Would any man smear his organ with human excrement? If not, why would anyone insert his organ into the rectum?

Natural calamities are god send in India. If any state has drought, floods or landslide the state government immediately demands billions of rupees in assistance from the central government. That is bonanza time for criminal politicians and thieving civil servants who rake in the moolah. Most of the cash is divided between the looters and the people are given token amounts. This year's heavy monsoon rains mean that Uttarakhand and UP had floods while Bengal initially had drought but has good rainfall now. Bengal has already demanded assistance from the center. Uttarakhand initially demanded Rs. 50 billion but has now upped it to Rs. 210 billion. This is a small hill state carved out of UP where the people are dirt poor but property prices are red hot. A six hundred sq. foot shop recently sold for Rs. 12.5 million which is more than Rs. 20000 per sq. foot. This is because this is arguably the most corrupt state in India. Everyone seems to be on the take and any two bit politician or civil servant has an official car with siren, flashing lights and police escort armed with AK47. Roads break up after one shower, electricity distribution is erratic because of poor equipment and the land mafia is building on public land without restraint. The previous chief minister was a disaster. He insisted on proper quality and tried to stop land grabbers. Contractors, builders and property dealers were up in arms and he was forced to step down. Now everyone is happy. Property prices are rocketing reflecting the amount of black money and will go up further if the center transfers funds. Floods and landslides mean huge profits. Diwali will indeed be enjoyable.

Mahinda Rajapaksa, President of Sri Lanka is following the well traveled route to becoming a dictator. Son of a politician, he was elected president in 2005 and reelected this year with a huge majority after annihilating the LTTE, a militant Tamil unit fighting for independence. The LTTE was a nasty organisation which terrorised Tamils more than its enemies. Rajapaksa became president promising to wipe out the LTTE permanently which he did with the help of General Fonseca who was the army chief. They did it with ruthless ferocity killing thousands innocent civilians, killing unarmed surrendering fighters and indiscriminately bombing anywhere they suspected fighters to be without regard for civilian casualties. Naturally the two allies fell out and Rajapaksa was reelected against Fonseca. He has now set out to discredit Fonseca and exact revenge by stripping him of his rank and medals and now by getting him sent to jail for 30 months. In the meantime he has changed the constitution to allow him to stand for President as many times as he likes. He knows that as long as he remains president he can stop any investigation into his role as a war criminal and persecute any witness. In this he is assisted by his three brothers who hold important portfolios. From now on he must do whatever it takes to stay in power including killing opponents and rigging elections. However, he must remember that he cannot kill everyone and victims have long memories. He can rest assured that his time will come unless he can cheat his accusers by dying first as Pol Pot did. The route of dictators is well documented as is their fate. He should do some reading.
